  2. Healing thoughts for you and your family during this very difficult time.
  3. I'm very sorry to hear this. Please enjoy the time you have left together and spoil that precious girl with all you've got.
  4. We helped our sweet old girl Willow over the bridge yesterday. 15 is old for a greyhound, and we didn't adopt her until she was 13, but it does not make the loss any easier. In the nearly 2 years this wonderful lady graced our home she brought us much joy and laughter and taught us patience. Even though we have 4 other greyhounds right now, our home seems so empty. How can one being possess such a presence? She was always there, ready to bark at us for treats, or tell us its time for dinner or to go out. Now she is gone, leaving only wonderful memories along with an ache in my heart. Run free my sweet Willow. We miss you and love you.

  6. What a sad story. I am so sorry for your loss.
  7. My foster girlie, Gracie, broke her leg at the track and was never spayed. Of course she came into heat 3 days before she was scheduled for the spay. She bled for two weeks so we had to keep girl panties with a pad on her at all times during that 'period'. For the next two weeks, she had some very minimal discharge and her vulva was very swollen. With three young neutered males in my house, I kept a constant eye out for any unwanted activities. I didn't want her to get hurt (especially the broken leg) with any of the males trying to mount her Kept her crated at night. Only once did one of my males try mounting her. Outside, we did very short walks right into the fenced in yard to make sure no other dogs appeared, which they didn't. Other than the inconvenience of the panties, it was not a big deal. I felt bad for Gracie, because she was in a leg cast and panties at the same time.

  9. Oh, what beautiful meezer! I'm so very sorry for your loss.
  10. Sometimes when my almost 15 yr. old Willow won't eat, I put a few dollups of canned cat food on top of her food (which is usually a little kibble and some steak or other yummy food I have cooked for her). Its stinky and she seems to really enjoy it. I know its probably not the best thing for her, but it beats not eating at all.

  16. My Willow, who will also be 15 in Nov., is going through the same thing. I have to give her steak, or some other really yummy stuff - and sometimes she doesn't even eat that. We feed her four times a day. I know this probably isn't great for her, but I have found that if I dollop some canned cat food on top of her meal she will eat her whole bowl of food. Its very stinky - even better than tuna, salmon, etc, which she won't eat.
  17. Willow, 15 in Nov., has to go every 4 hours or so. Regardless of whether is day time or night.
  18. Having my one senior girl, Willow, at 14 yr. 10 months is tough - I can't imagine going through it with 3. Lots of hugs to you and your babies.
  19. I have someone to commiserate with 2-3 weeks, huh? Let the fun begin!!
