I SO want to participate, but I currently have 3 cats and no hounds. I know there are others who might have listed a cat or a non-grey, but I know how much everyone likes buying the hound stuff, so I think I'll resisit
*feeling slightly sorry for myself*
A couple of years ago, my secret santa/bunny/August person didn't have a dog only 1 cat.
They may be a bit harder to buy for, but I found some stuff.

Our first time doing this..... we signed up!
One question...... are you told if it's a boy or girl pup ??? Age???? That might help in picking a gift.
That info can be put in the comments section.
If someone doesn't do that and you need to know, and can't find out from previous posts, you can ask another GT'er your friendly with to ask on your behalf.

Diane, I found this picture of Willow that I was looking for. This was taken at Long Sands Beach in ME. It was a magical afternoon as I remember.....
Thanks. Most of her pictures are of her laying down.
Her motto was " Why stand when I can lay down!"
Probably one of the reasons she made it to 14+.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and thoughts

Well old woman, our long journey together has come to an end.
We had a rough start and ending. I would like to think you had lots of fun in the middle though.
You came to live here in Feb. 98...and was definately not cat safe. "What have I gotten myself into!" I'm sure the cats were wondering the same. Luckily for all of us, you were able to learn from Patches that 'cats are not food...and not fun to play with' Those claws can hurt. One hurdle over with.
Now for the SA. Although we made some progress over the following year, it was still an issue. Seeing how desperate you were to be with other GH's when you saw any, Austin came to live here the following year. As soon as he arrived, your SA was gone. By now you two are together again.
You'll be able to play your hunting game with him, like you used to.
Although I don't think there will be any coffee tables there, maybe there will be a rock you can play the round robin game with. I never got a good look at it nor any pictures. Every time I'd try to watch, both of you would stop. I could tell you both were having a good time.
I know you'll be happy there. If you had your way I would of dropped you off for the day at the Dewey Hund Run and left you there. Your biggest joy was to be with a group of dogs running and having fun.
You were also a very patient foster mom to quite a few GH's that have passed through here. I know a couple of them had to of gotten on your nerves. After all they were just learning all about this home life thing.
You are not alone there. Besides Austin, your first new (post retirement) doggie friend Sheba is already there. She'll show you where all the good water puddles are for cooling off.
Some of you M&G buddies are there. Robb, Finbar, Lindsey,McQuen, Dorcus. I think your dog park GH friend Mickey might be there. We haven't seen him in a long time and he was older than you. You and Austin help him along, you know how insecure he was sometimes.
There will so so many new friends for you to meet. Until we meet again.

So we got George a month ago. He did not come with a rabies tag. We were told the medical records would come to us soon. And in a few days, the records were here, but still no tag.
He came with a two-page typed report from a vet in New Hampshire, saying he had been neutred, examined, heartwormed on 6-7-07. Stapled to this sheet was a small (2" x 4") Certificate of Vaccination, dated 2-4-07. It was hand written chicken scratch.
I called the New Hampshire vet and they said they don't do rabies shots there, and that the little sheet was not theres.
Problem is that the little sheet lacks the vet address. Here is what it says (question marks denote illegible hand writing):
Owner: Alderson Kennel
Address: #15 St Pete Kennel Club ???
Date: 2-4-07
Phone: ?24-1954
Driftwood George
Male, Brindle, Greyhound, 69 lbs, Born 4/1/05
Vaccination Tag No: Left Blank
Vaccine Serial No: ???????? A589384
Veterinarian: 4187 Donal B????n
So any idea what I can do to get a rabies tag. Is there a way to track down the previous vet? Should I just wait to get him re-vaccinated in Feb 08? Should I get him re-vaccinated now?
Thanks,
Chris
My second GH was vaccinated at the track ( Hinsdale) and received a health certificate from there as well. On it it listed his vaccination history. They had used his ear tattoo numbers as a rabies tag number in place of an actual tag.
Maybe this has happened with his as well. If there is nothing like this in the paperwork you have, maybe the group has more and they have it.

Just saw this...glad it went well.

I was hoping that Rusty would be feeling better.
If he were mine and unless he is on IV meds, I would bring him home and see if maybe that might help his appetite.
I think he would at least be happier at home, maybe more comfortable as well.
