That price is very reasonable. She should be fine after a few days. She should be able to go back to eating kibble after a short time.

Dentals and extractions will vary A LOT from vet to vet and one geographic region to another.
Buddy's dental last fall cost $1000. for 23 extractions, etc.
This vet has a price scale depending on the tooth/teeth involved. Some are easier to extract and some are not.

From GH-L:
I thought it might be useful, or at least interesting, to compare
results of the different protocols we have used to treat our
greyhounds for bone cancer (osteosarcoma). If we get enough results,
we will compile them at www.greythealth.com. Please save this post so
that you can send an update whenever your hound finally passes
(sorry).

My new guy only has his 2 bottom canines left.
With his previous family he had yearly dentals and lost teeth each time.
When I got him he had another and lost 23.
What I do to soak his kibble. I have a gas stove/oven. I cover his kibble with water and put it in the oven. I don't turn it on, but with the pilot light it stays @ 70 degrees. I leave it in there for at least 20 minutes. Really warm water would do the same.

I'm so sorry for your sudden loss. It's always painful for us...but the unexpected passings are even thougher.
It sounds just like the way Austin left. He was the picture of health up until Monday AM. He spent Mon. night at the vets...Tuesday he was gone. Same symptoms. Enlarged heart with fluid.

WOOO HOOO just got a bunch of great SB toys and also SS toys for next year at PetEdge.com, big sale!
I was thinking of opting out of SB this year, after my SS dissed me and another gift giver with no acknowledgement or thanks, but I am hoping that experience won't be repeated. Last year's SS and SB were great fun, posting funny pics along with nice thanks.
yup, i was the other gift giver..."we was hosed"...lol. i was going to bail, but decided to just ask to not be matched with that person in the future. sad, coz i really was looking forward to seeing their hound model the gift....
I feel your pain....still no 'thank you' here either.

Dr. Dudley at VCA Northboro in MA is a board certified orthopedic surgeon (not tons of them around), and definitely worth the trip. She is excellent! She did my boy Stretch's surgical repair for his hock and you really can barely tell anything was ever wrong with it.
This is who GPA-CNH uses and they have been very happy with her work.
Another GPA member just had her GH's leg amputated for osteo.
She went to nevog in Waltham. The practice now has a satellite branch in Manchester.
I'll email her for their phone numbers.

It makes a difference. I never heard word one from one last year, which of course made me think I sent horrid gifts, so I decided not to risk it this year.
A friend of mine that had been active here had the same thing happen last year. When I told her the SS exchange had opened she said the same thing you mentioned above.

Ooo - details please. I joined GT just after Secret Santa so I don't want to miss Secret Bunnies!
Same here. Details....please,please,please!!!
Same thing as Secret Santa...only different.
Just substitute a bunny for Santa.
Bunny ears instead of reindeer antlers.
Easter candy instead of Christmas candy....etc.

Still haven't heard from my person
Checking her profile it shows she's been on GT yesterday and today.
Checking her posts, she hasn't put anything in another forum topic.
My GT name was on the Christmas card included.

Oh, yeah. Shipping for one of my packages was $58.
Holy crap!! I have never done SS and surely never will. Yikes!!
I thought mine was bad at $36. Mine went overseas as well.

Daisy,
We are having our human write to you to thank you for our box of new stuffies, as we are having to much fun with them to write ourselves.
We love having new ones. Something had happened to all our old ones. Seems the stuffing is falling out for some reason
Our story is the cats did it. ;)
The treats are tasty also. Very cute card as well.
Happy Holidays from Matt, Buddy and Jack Lee ( foster)

Thanks.
My package is going UK'ish

Is there any human and dog treats that can be shipped without causing a problem if opened by customs?
-
I'm very sorry. :bighug
I'm sure Willow and Austin were there to meet her.

That's a great link.

I've been turned down by a couple of evil elves. (they're busy this year!!) Think a gal could get some help?? lol
Sorry this happened to you.
What I have done in the past if I needed info, was to ask a GT'er I'm close to and have them ask for me. All I've ever asked for is pictures for a special present.

Mine says the same as everyones else. No way to acknowledge.
I wouldn't start shopping just yet. One of last years events, the first matches were canceled and things were started over.

I'm very sad to hear about Darryl. I dog sat Darryl one weekend in 2004. He was a big boy, making Willow and Austin look like Whippets...almost.
He was a very good boy and had a funny habit ( although I can't remember what it was).
I took him to the fair grounds with us that weekend and he had a good time.
Here is one picture I have of him at that time...on a happier day.
Willow and Austin will be there to show you around.
