  1. I buy Dog Booties here.

Medium size with VELSTRETCH closure. They have worked well for us. I figured if they stay on sled dogs they should be fine for mine. They don't come up high, but I'm only concerned for their pads. All of the dogs here (my own and fosters) have worn them without issue.

Here is a picture of Ausitn and Matt with their booties on just before a walk.

P.S.... It's easier to put on booties when they are upside down.

  2. When I have to settle an upset stomach on one of my dogs or a foster, I use boiled hamburg and rice.

I've had a couple of fosters that couldn't eat even one small piece of chicken without having an upset stomach and "D" for a couple of days.

From my experience, they may have more problems with chicken than hamburg.

What most due when having a dog with an upset stomach is fast them for 24 hours, then start back with the bland.

With 2 dogs have your SO walk Gigi while you feed Pulitizer.

  3. I've never had a seisure dog, but have friends that have.

It can sometimes be a struggle finding the right meds, and level of those meds, but once found they can live normal lives as long as they are on the meds.

Also sometimes things such as Heartguard, Frontline, etc. can cause them.

Some people will start keeping a diary of what they have been feeding, what meds given when and when the seisures happen to find out it there is something triggering them.

  4. Well I'm sorry to have to be a bearer of bad news, but my friend had a rear leg amputated on one of her GH's from Osteo in early Dec. last year. She sent him to the bridge in Sept. That last month he had a lot of problems getting up. meds only helped for a few weeks. They don't feel it was directly from the osteo ( his lungs were still clear), but maybe something like a pinched nerve. Anyway, she said he seemed to just give up.

How they handle it will probbaly be an individual thing.

  5. i wanted to go to the store and she saw me take my purse and started to whimper, she wants to go with me and would if I let her. How canthis be so easy? is it the drugs?

If she was feeling OK and it wasn't to far a drive I'd of taken her.

    Better living through chemistry.

You said that paying a little extra for the best medical care makes a difference. Maybe this is the proof.

FYI.. most orange cats are males. Depending on the vet you talk to, 85% or more are males.

I found out when I took my female orange kitten in the be spayed. The techs didn't believe me when I said she was a female and they saw her color.

"Well, she woke me up yesterday AM wiggling her butt in my face bellowing for :blush :blush "

They still didn't really believe me. I can't tell the sex young cats..but her behavior was a give away I thought.
