YAY for clear scan!!!!!!!
Amelia, you work it, girl! Valet service for stairs and caviar for breakfast! Whatever you want, they HAVE to give it to you.
Isn’t that the truth!
I went out to dinner last night and brought her home filet!!!

Amelia is still doing well after her treatment.
She was a little "extra" picky at breakfast, but she has been after the treatments, so nothing unusual there.Otherwise, business as usual!

She's still ahead of Willa, who has literally never even seen our upstairs!
We did scans every other chemo appointment, and now we're on a three-month schedule, which is great. I get to space my panic attacks further apart!
Watching her go up the 5 stairs she could easily do the 9. And she comes down the 9 stairs by herself which I thought was going to be more of the issue!
I'm hoping the scans space out to at least every 3 months or so.

Thank you all for asking for an update!
Now we only have 2 chemo treatments left!
And I guess scans every so often?
She is doing so well!
ONLY thing not back to "normal" is she isn't going up the big set of stairs, even though she can physically.
So we are still having to carry her up at night.- 2

Sorry Sorry Sorry!
SCAN WAS CLEAR!
Woohoo!
She even gained 2lbs and the doc was thrilled how friendly and "herself" she was!- 4

I get it. I'm petrified every time Willa has x-rays. And then totally elated when they're clear. I'm glad Amelia's still doing so well! That's what matters.
Gonna be a tense morning.
Appointment is at 9:30am. -
Little nervous about this one since we have the scan.
She is doing so well though!- 1

Everything these folks have said!
I will say that scared feeling will go away... don't let go of the leash, but as you form a bond with your hound, and they settle in, you won't feel like you need a death grip on them.
They will stay with you.
We have always had our greys on leashes outside of our yard, and will continue to do so. You many critters and cars around. On another note, if you do adopt a grey, you are gonna fall in love!
Good luck! -

We only ever needed nausea meds for Doxorubicin, not Carboplatin. Sounds like Amelia is handling it all like the champ she is.
Please keep the good news coming! We need as much as we can get after Cindy lost her boy Zeke today to this horrid disease. Six years old.
Poor Cindy and Zeke… I am so sorry to hear this.
Run free sweet Zeke -
Update: Amelia is doing well after her 3rd treatment. There was a mix-up and we did not get the anti-nausea meds.
So far she is fine without. She gained weight too which the doctors were happy about!

Good morning grey peeps!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend.
Update: Amelia was able to get her 3rd chemo treatment this morning.
Next treatment she will get a chest scan to make sure all is well and treatments are working.
In the meantime, she is very much her usual self these past couple weeks.
Amazing how she is acting like nothing has happened!- 4

When all her hair grows back in I think she’ll look more ‘even’. And yes.. she’ll develop more - different - muscles as she gets fitter.
Our first front-amp boy had no shoulder blade and he always looked a little ‘off-kilter’.
Joshi still has her shoulder and from above is quite even. She also has lots of hair to hide any unevenness.
Hair is slowly coming in.
She doesn't have a lot to begin with LOL so hopefully things cover a little.- 1

Another little update:
Amelia's personality is really coming out lately...
She has started being antagonistic towards Carmen when they go out. There have been some zoomie sessions together as well!

Well, after my freak out today I have good news!
Went out to dinner, when we got home we let the girls out.
Their MO is is to sprint from the door to the far corner of the yard chasing shadows or goblins.
Amelia has always been faster than Carmen….
Well wouldn’t you know it. She STILL beat her!

She looks amazing.
Go Willa!!!!!!
Thank you for bringing me down to earth!

Oh thank you!
Wow I really had myself worked up this morning! She is doing so well.
BTW - how long has it been for Willa?
When did she go through surgery?- 1

Here are 3 pics I got:
The first pic shows it the best. But it runs along the white fur, next to the scar line that runs right where the red fur is. Not sure if the surgeon did that on purpose but it sure hides the scar well!
I do recall the “bulge” a bit when we had her shirt on, etc. I think I am being paranoid at the moment. But a second, 3rd, 4th set off eyes from you all is great.
Thx!

Ok gang,
I need to be talked off a ledge…
This morning I noticed a bit of a “bulge” on the right side of her neck. It’s not huge, it’s not hard, and it’s not super soft like fluid.
It is right in front where her stitch line is/was on her shoulder. At first I panicked, but then I’m wondering with a lot more activity, is it just her muscles developing asymmetrical on her right side now?
I mean, she isn’t the on both sides anymore, holds her head a bit to the right, etc for balance.Appetite, activity, etc is all good and normal.
Anyone experience this?
Of course we will be watching this for any change.
I can take a pic for location reference if you all want.
Thx. -
I have the Help 'em up harness that was sent to me for Amelia.
She doesn't seem t like it so I could send it to you?
What is the current "gold standard" for heart worm/flea/tick preventative for greyhounds in 2024?

We actually just switched to NexGard. It's tough getting the girls to take anything. They thank goodness like it.
