Welcome, Jonny, Winnie, and Luna!
Agreeing with above posts. Just as an example, I adopted a hound with gnarly nails who was being treated for a fungal infection; turned out to be an autoimmune disease -- pemphigus or Symmetrical lupoid onychodystrophy (SLO). He responded well to treatment once he got the right diagnosis.
Other notes -- of course I do not know your dog and I am not a veterinarian, but just have general knowledge of 2 of your list of symptoms. Just for your background info:
-- loss of fur on belly. This is extremely common (almost universal!) in racing greyhounds. Evidently a genetic thing; not much that can be done about it. There can be some improvement with diet additions; sometimes change of seasons makes a difference.
-- struggles with heat -- also fairly common in greyhounds. One of my current hounds starts panting when the temps reach 70F. She continues active with the panting, it doesn't seem to bother her, but I am cautious with her in warm weather.

Hello, Stephanie! A red brindle -- stripey girls are wonderful! Does she bark with an Australian accent? How are she and Adam getting along?

Oh, he is STUNNING. And seems like such a sweetheart. When I saw "teenager" in your post title, I thought you meant a 13-year-old, but he's obviously much younger than that. He looks strong and eager on your walk.
In the United States, that roaching with a front leg extended is called the Statue of Liberty Pose. All Buster needs is a torch of liberty and a green patina and he'd be a dead ringer for the statue.
Short term or long term, you're doing a good thing. Buddy would be so pleased and proud of you.

Those girl hounds are lucky to have a wonderful brother.
I wonder if Stella agrees with that. She might think he's a stick-
in-the-mudon-the-floor who won't play with her. Anyhoo, WE know you're wonderful, Mr Mark. -
Gelsey is one of those dogs who loves to rummage through wastebaskets and shred any used paper napkins or tissues she finds. I've been contributing a lot of tissues to the wastebaskets the last few weeks, and haven't always been successful in keeping them away from Gelsey. We have had several conversations about this. Gelsey is also one of those dogs who wants very much to please you but is also absolutely determined to do whatever the #@*& she wants.
The other day I caught her in mid theft. She was joyfully trotting past me, prize held daintily in her front teeth, when she turned her head and saw me. The expression on her face! Her pupils dilated instantly. She dropped the tissue and kept looking at me, eyes doubling in size and becoming full of guilt, remorse, and grief. "Don't hit me again," she seemed to be saying. "Don't starve me for days like you did last time."
I told her she was a good girl and got up to give her a treat. When I returned with treat in hand, she and the tissue had disappeared.

Oh, so beautiful!
And such nicely trimmed nails.

You poor, poor girl. There otta be a law against this. I'm scared to think about Doolin's fate.

Spill your guts, Lambchop

So what do Mark and Gracie think of each other now?

I keep temporary or permanent collections of things with me in a bag as I move around the house. For example, today's "necessaries" bag includes cell phone, portable landline phone, lots of extra tissues since wherever I choose to sit will be the ONE place that I don't have a box of tissues, cough drops, sticky note pad, pen, etc. Yesterday I also had the dog grooming bag (brushing glove, wipes, clippers, nail first aid, treats). The grooming bag is its own trash bag. When the sunlight reached the living room windows, I began grooming the dogs. Excess fur, nail wipes, and bits of nail dropped back in the bag. But when I reached in to find the treats to reward the dogs at the end of the process, I found loose tissues, sticky notes, etc., all now covered with fur and nail tips. Moral: Look before you trash.

Has Annie
luredwelcomed any more kidlets to reading time? -
That makes me feel so sad and so strong at the same time.

Hard for me to believe that Doolin isn't perfect and that this isn't a vile rumor started by cats.

How beautiful! And that bunny fur matches exactly with your rug -- you'll never have to do an extra vacuuming. How did you find each other?

Wheeeeeeee for 3!

She is a fawn colored girl, not black and white, so Domino doesn't make sense.
Maybe she was named after Domino Sugar 'cause she's sweet?
How did Odin and Shine get along? (Shine was my Secret Santa recipient one year, and I think of her fondly.)

Two hounds. Yes, really.
Eeeeek! Spill the beans, Irene!

Sweep and Richard probably take turns taking non-harmful whacks at each other.
Richard was sure one magnificently handsome cat.

Us! 2 hounds.
Thanks, Mary Pat.

In humans, the ability to roll the tongue like that is mostly genetic. I wonder if it's the same with dogs.

Trip sounds wonderful. Not that I know much about most of your stops, but even the names sound terrific.

We go on our first holiday without him on Friday. We had booked a cabin in a forest for his sniffaris
Have a wonderfully sad and grateful holiday. His spirit will be with you, every step.
Sniffaris --
How you met reminds me of my Romie, whom you never met. I asked at the kennel who needed a home the most, and was told, That big quiet one. There's not a thing wrong with him, but people just the dark fur and the white on his muzzle and think he's just an old black dog, and walk on by. Buddy might have been giving you a test to see if you could tell that he was truly made out of gold.
Friday is for pizza
