  1. Happy Birthday Hot Rod!

Even though we never got to meet you, you are missed more than many can know, especially with Rocket being one of your many "brudders from anudder mudder." The two of you are very much alike, right down to googly eyes, being silly, and your handsome gray faces.

We think of you every day and see your picture on the Winners By A Nose Poster several times a day as we walk by it.

Happy Birthday sweet boy. You are still making all of us smile, even if there are also some tears involved. Run pain-free. :beatheart:beatheart:beatheart

  2. Smiley said: Hey in case I get busy sleeping, you'll be loved forever & ever....and hey...Happy Birthday lil buddy....100_3776.jpg

Thanks for the compliment....Both of them were so easy to take care of, especially Aiden. He's so laid back. He reminded me of Pegasus with his coloring, personality & little touch of roman nose. Aiden was alittle more funny, especially in the mornings, he did this play bow, grin, scoot when we got up in the morning.

Cinco does love to snuggle! He would let Smiley & Angel climb over him & one night I woke up & he was between me & Angel.

Not to take away from Aiden and Cinco's introduction, but we don't see nearly enough of the gang at HeeHoo's house. I think their Momma needs to start a thread and post some pics. How's that for a subtle hint? :bgeorge

  3. Our vet switched Rocket to Trifexis. He threw it up the first time after about an hour, but the second time we gave it (a month later), he did fine. You MUST give it right at the end of a meal on a completely full stomach. Other than the first incident, he has done fine on it.

Will be watching to see what changes next with all of these products.

  4. Thanks to Taylor and Face's dad for sending me this info. For those of us awaiting the return of Interceptor to the market, it's apparently not going to happen.

Apparently Interceptor will not be manufactured for the US market any longer. Only Sentinel Flavor Tabs will be available. I hate marketing decisions.

Here's the article: If this is a repost, I missed it the first time around, but didn't find anything on a search.

  5. It can take more than a week. I wouldn't worry yet, especially if the blood has cleared up. We deal with bloody/gelatinous stools with Rocket a couple times a year. I have started using Evanger's Canned Organic Chicken instead of cooking chicken for him. It seems to work better for him, I think because it is ground so fine that it's easier to digest. i can slowly start mixing kibble with it a little at a time until he is back on kibble after the bloody stools clear up.

Be sure to continue the Flagyl until things are back to normal, kibble can irritate the tummy and you will be back where you started .

  6. I have issues posting pictures here, but if you're on FBI or give me your email address, I can send you pictures of the slides that I was referring to. It may make more sense that way.

If he's in a crate and it comes off, I would be a little worried about the collar getting chewed if he gets bored.

I will pm you my email address. Thanks!

  7. There have been a number of various threads on tick collars and tick prevention. I cannot find this answer in the threads or using Google.

I need to add something to Rocket's monthly treatment that will cover ticks since we are now using Trifexis. I would like to use the Preventic Collar, but cannot find any mention of the one for dogs having a breakaway clasp. The one for cats is specifically marketed as a breakaway, but there is no mention of that for the dog product.

Rocket will be boarded for a couple of weeks next month, and will spend idle time and overnight in a crate. I don't want a collar on him that isn't a breakaway. Can anyone advise if the Preventic is a breakaway? If not, is there one out there that is ?(not flea and tick, but tick only)

    Thanks.

  8. She'll probably want a refill in a while. :bgeorge

Greyhounds seem to like their coffee.

The biggest problem is the caffeine. In a dog the size of a greyhound, it would take a significant amount of caffeine to cause a problem. If she starts getting hyper, restless, or has any medical issues that are heart related, then I would call the vet to double check. One glass shouldn't be a problem unless it's an energy drink or contains some exorbitant amount of caffeine.
