  1. Our Snowy ripped his nail off completely on the 23rd February this year and it's only just fully grown back normal 8 months later. It was bandaged by the vets for a week and then we went back for the dressing to be changed again, then another week later the air was allowed to get to it..... After this just for a short period we did however, put vetwrap on it which is a stretchy self adhesive bandage whenever we went out for a walk just to cushion it, keep the muck out and stop him knocking it.
  2. I have no experience of corneal ulcers sorry......... But did have to deal with drops and ointments for three months when my old lady Tess had a lens fitted in one eye and in the other it was shaved, she was already deaf and was going blind a year up until her operation and afterwards had 18 months of a very full and happy life. Yes she did get a bit fed up when I was medicating her when looking into her eyes she'd squeeze them tight shut. But this soon passed after she recovered and she forgot all about it. Maybe Buddy is a bit paranoid about his eye at the minute? Just a thought....

  10. You actually aren't supposed to express your dog's anal glands that often. If everything is working properly, a dog will express its own anal glands with bowel movements and with regular grooming. It's only when there is a problem that humans need to intervene. I agree, this is exactly what our vet told us too. Leave nature to take it's course unless there's a problem.....
  11. My only advice is to find another vet for a second opinion - if you're instinct is nagging at you it's probably for a reason Sorry to hear your poor Hatter is not well, as if you haven't been through enough already We are lucy to have a WONDERFUL vet who has treated our pets for 25 years He speaks to my wife as though she's a veterninary nurse and always asks our opinion as he says we are with our pets more than he is and are more in-tune with them.
  12. Peace be with you...........deepest sympathy
