  1. I was babysitting for a family with a mini schnauzer once and he got into a 3-level box of godiva truffles. Ate most of it, and was totally fine. Not that I'm advocating chocolate for dogs...I am not. Just wanted to help alleviate your fears! Glad to hear your boys are OK. Little troublemakers, aren't they??!!
  2. So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful kitty.
  3. They are beautiful! Hope to see pictures of your two new girls also!
  4. As my vet said once when stitching up Argos for the third time...everything went into making them fast, the rest is just an afterthought!
  5. Many good thoughts and prayers, for Christoffe and for his humans
  6. I'm so sorry for your loss. My Argos looks a lot like your Argus - I agree, extraordinarily beautiful. I hope you enjoy many happy memories of him.
  7. James Potter, as in Harry Potter's father? Cool! Oh, and welcome to you and Zachary! I am mostly a lurker also. I certainly have very little wisdom to add to these forums, but I love the photos and I especially love how warmhearted everyone seems to be.
  8. Thanks - great tip. I will check into the raspberry leaf. I love natural remedies. Yes, I am posting on behalf of both of us (the owner and myself) - but good point about checking with her.
  9. Hi everyone - We frequently dog-sit for a woman who has a westie (Charlie) - everytime Charlie is here, even for one night, he gets diarrhea. He's not getting into anything here, his diet is the same as at home, etc. We figure it's just how his body reacts to the stress of mom leaving and being in a new place. I wouldn't even worry about it except that it keeps him from being able to "hold it" all day and there have been a few accidents. I've heard that you can treat a dog's diarrhea with Immodium, but I'm wondering if anyone here ever has, and if so, what dosage? This is a tiny guy - weighs maybe 15 pounds. Any thoughts? Thanks, Christie
  10. Ooooo...my first greytalk post! I notice this conversation has been going on for over a year, so I figure why let it stop now. We walk our boy about an hour in the morning and 30-45 minutes in the evening. I'm lucky because I have a 5-minute commute, so I have more time at home than most people who work full time. Plus I need the exercise! I do try to include a run at some point in the walk if there is a baseball diamond or other fenced area we can sneak on to - he loves that!
