  1. I've had some fosters through here with the Big D. Some had it a few days, some a week or two. Each dog is different
  2. Yep, she collects them,..doesn't chew them just likes to horde them. My "Sunday go to meeting" sneakers get put on the shelf in the closet so when the alarm goes off at 2am for work I don't have to go on a quest to find a matching pair.
  3. A suggestion from one guy to another...Maybe you can start with fostering. I've fostered off and on for years. I've seen a lot of greys act one way in the meet and greet situation but in a fostering setup you get to see their true personality come out. My first girl was the a shy girl and is still very "clingy" to me. My 2nd one was one of my fosters I had come through, very reserved in public but after about a month she really became out going once she relaxed here. The third and final one, ( yeah, right) was very shy at the kennel and I have a thing for the shy ones. But in the month since she has become a family member she is getting goofy and a trip to have around. So I say if you aren't sure, foster..... And welcome from Phoenix, here's to a first of many furrkids in your future Greg
  4. at least she will be rid of that dirty mouth,.... The little amount should pass right on through, but keep an eye on her and if she starts acting odd, better safe then sorry take her to the vet
  5. My new girl Ellie B, just was diagnosed with hookworm and has just finshed her Panacur and I did her Frontline Plus on her 2nd day of Panacur. No problems, different meds workling differently so shouldn't be any trouble Greg
  6. And a greeting from Phoenix, to you and Sir Charles
  7. Nope, that "other" group.. GPA.. But taking a short break on the fostering. Giving Ellie B some settle in time. I would foster for whatever greyhound group needs the help. I'm here for the pups.. Greg
  8. Some of you may know me from all the fosters I've had through the Magic Foster House. Well a few weeks ago I added my 3rd family member. I've posted a few pics of her in Everything Else and Cute adn Funny, but thought a real introduction was in order. A quick note on how she came to me. I foster for a group here in Phoenix and when i went to the kennel to pick up a new foster there was this little blue brindle girl, just under two years old. I fell for her then and there and told the kennel folks when she was going to retire i had a home for her. Thinking i had about a year at least. Well two days later her owner sent me an email saying instead of running her in Tijuana if I still had a home she was mine. So what was going to be a year turned out to be a month. Her race name was Blue Sea..17 races.. She is now know as Ellie B. She is getting over a neck rash and a bout of hookworm but is still alittle firecracker. Loves to make confetti.. Someday I am going to go outside and she will have pooped a copy of War and Peace at this rate.. So those who have not met my little girl, I give you Ellie B.
  9. Oh she is such the cutie. And it won't be long before she is at ease and getting into everything.. Greg
  10. I adopted Ellie B. a couple of weeks ago right out of the kennel. She was there a little over a month and was only wearing the plastic collars used in the kennel. And she had a pretty rarw red area on her neck. It's only been a couple of weeks but the scabbing from her scratching is almost gone. Just a few spots left. I have just washed it in warm soapy water, dried it and put some anti-biotic cream on it. She still scratches some, but no where near as much. Now if I could just cure her shoe fetish I'm good to go..
  11. I use the finger puppet toothbrush. Isis is not happy one little bit. Bijou couldn't care less. And Ellie is still a little unsure of the whole thing
  12. Sounds like my new girl Ellie B. I just adopted her a couple of weeks ago and she has the kennel/vets smell. Gotta give her a bath this week. I had to wait for the spay sutures to dissolve. But it ia unique smell ain't it??
  13. I usually give my girls a couple of baths a year. or if they go rolling the dirt in the garden more often
  14. That is one odd looking greyhound.. Welcome back onboard from Phoenix, AZ Greg
  15. Greetings from Phoenix, AZ and this displaced Cajun.. Any questions you could ever think of about your greyhound feel free to ask here. Remember, no question is too stupid...unless it is me asking..
  16. This morning I picked up my new girl from the vet. She was spayed Friday morning. Well today she will go out and look like she is trying to relieve herself, you can see the hind quarters straining but nothing...Also, she will pee just fine but when she is finishing up there seems to be a bit of red blood like look to it, not a lot just the last couple of drops in the urine. I was wondering if this is just normal post spaying symptoms? Asie from that she is fine, not eating much but drinking water fine. I think the appetite will be back tomorrow or the next day
  17. Greetings from the Valley of the Sun, Pheonix, AZ
