Hilda when we lost our first Shadow I had the same with my greys looking for her and the same with Phawn. They kept going to where they loved to sleep and sometimes crying for them. I do believe they mourn just like we do

I bet she was looking for Snowy and has realized that Snowy is not coming back home. She was used to Snowy being away when she was sick and then coming back home it probably has dawned on her that Snowy will not be back home.

Claudia, she has sent me 2 yellow butterflies.Oh, leave it to that little lady. How cool is that. I will never forget the story about Flecka and the butterflies. I think it takes a very special connection with them to have things like that happen. Thank you for telling me that. Snowy is OKAY
Ask Hilda about me - I also saw 2 yellow butter flies and let Hilda know and Saturday I saw a pale yellow one with black markings
Oh now you HAVE to tell me!! What is it with butterflies? I know the significance with Flecka.
You will have to ask Hilda to tell you the full story
Okay, but you're killing me here!!
Ask Hilda about the Thunder Coat also, the fan, etc.

Praying the rest will pass
Our Hershey before she was 1 year old had a double blockage from eating indoor/outdoor carpeting. We had to put a deposit of $1400 to the ER vet before they would operate ended up to be $1600 and all we got was a bag of stinky carpet fiber..

Glad your baby girl is okay and hope she heals well
-
Softee aka The Godess went on a snit yesterday and we had to open another brand of dog food for her to get her to eat something. I swear the stinkier and cheaper she enjoys. As long as I get some food into her. After she ate that stinking food she finished her dinner
-
Softee our soon to be 15 is also on a diet - anything she wants - vet says they only get about 60% of nutrition of what they eat at that age
-
We use Authority and mix in (about 1 tablespoon of canned) what ever they want we keep a variety of canned food in the house as Ms. Softee who will be 15 in August has her snits. With her we might have 3 or 4 open cans in the refrigerator at any given time...

Thought about Carly all day today at work and sending lots of prayers and healing thoughts

This was sent to me when we lost our first grey Shadow aka Shadow Do - I hope it helps
The Spirit Of A Greyhound
I was standing on a hillside in a field of blowing wheat,
and the spirit of a Greyhound was lying at my feet.
He looked at me with kind dark eyes, ancient wisdom shining through.
in the essence of his being, I saw the love there too.
His mind did lock upon my heart as I stood there on that day,
and he told me of this story about a place so far away.
As I stood upon that hillside in a field of blowing wheat,
in a twinkling of a second his spirit left my feet.
His tale did put my heart at ease, all my fears did fade away
about what lay ahead of me on another distant day.
"I live among God's creatures now in the heavens of your mind,
so do not grieve for me, my friend as I am with my kind.
My collar is a rainbow's hue, my leash a shooting star.
my boundaries are the Milky Way where I sparkle from afar.
There are no pens or kennels here for I am not confined,
but I'm free to roam God's heavens among the Greyhound kind.
I nap the day on a snowy cloud gentle breezes rocking me,
and dream the dreams of earthlings, and how it used to be.
The trees are full of liver treats, and tennis balls abound,
and milk bones line the walkways just waiting to be found.
There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green;
and everyone who gaits around becomes the Best of Breed.
For we're all winners in this place; we have no faults, you see.
and God passes out those ribbons to each one, even me.
I drink from waters laced with gold, my world a beauty to behold;
and wise old dogs do form my pride to amble at my very side.
At night I sleep in angel's arms, her wings protecting me,
and moonbeams dance about us as stardust falls on thee.
So when your life on earth is spent and you stand at Heaven's gate,
have no fear of loneliness-- for here, you know, I wait."

so glad you got your butterfly Hilda I know what they mean to you..

We only used the sleeve when they went out and I have a zillion of them so it did not matter how many I used and in wet weather we double bagged her foot. Our vet loved the idea and thanked us up and down when we left a bunch for him
-
good covers for feet boo boos are the plastic newspaper sleeves and we also covered the boo boo with a baby sock while in the house and when they went outside it was also covered with the newspaper sleeves.
Still praying for a speedy recovery

Never had the big D with any of mine when I first adopted them and one was right out of the racing kennel just started giving my food and not problem.
When they do get the D now that I have had them a few years I ususally make them chicken and rice. I have been told to give pumpkin but mine will not touch it. I do give them plain or vanilla yogurt also for the gas
-
Sending hugs and get well wishes from Pittsburgh.
Feet boo boos are so scarey. Softee who has had nail bed infections bled profusely and scared me half to death and the same with ripped toenails. Softee ended up with an amputation of the toe nail that was always getting infected.
