  1. I am lucky with both e-vets we have used if you ask for a script they will give you one and understand if you tell them that you have that rx at home. Our Hershey did cost us $1600 and we had to put a down payment of $1200 when she had the double blockage but they did examine her without having to put in writting you will pay the office fee

  2. A SPECIAL GIFT

You're giving me a special gift,

    So sorrowfully endowed,

And through these last few cherished days,

    Your courage makes me proud.

    But really, love is knowing

When your best friend is in pain,

    And understanding earthly acts

    Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,

    Beyond, into your soul,

I see in you the magic, that will

    Once more make me whole.

    The strength that you possess,

Is why I look to you today,

To do this thing that must be done,

    For it's the only way.

That strength is why I've followed you,

And chose you as my friend,

And why I've loved you all these years...

    My partner 'til the end.

Please, understand just what this gift,

    You're giving, means to me,

It gives me back the strength I've lost,

    And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,

For that is what friends do.

And know that what you do is right,

    For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,

And through your hand I feel,

    The courage that's within you,

To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,

Dear friend, and let me run,

Once more a strong and steady dog,

    My pain and struggle done.

    And don't despair my passing,

For I won't be far away,

    Forever here, within your heart,

    And memory I'll always stay.

I'll be there watching over you,

    Your ever faithful friend,

And in your memories I'll run,

    ...a young dog once again.

  3. I am crying and grieving with you for your loss. What a handsome boy he was and I love the last picture you posted. Just remember he is now pain free and playing with all the kids at the Bridge and I know that my kids Phawn, Shadow, Dart and Penny were there to greet him and show him around. You were very humane in letting him go.

  4. I just found this thread and did not know Trish but from experience I can tell you that you will always have Trish with you as you all so loved her

  5. So glad your baby is home and you caught the osteo in time.

When they diagnosed my Phawn with osteo it was too late to do anything except to keep her comfortable and happy. After her diagnosis we only had two short weeks with her. Her postmorten x-ray of her pelvis looked like swiss cheese.

I would try the tee shirt or even try a rolled towel pinned around her neck we did that with Jams when she scraped under her arm by leaping over the arm of the sofa and had sutures

  6. You are so sweet...such a good friend.

When you posted that she was gone I felt like I had lost one of my own she was such a sweetheart and I am so glad that I got the thunder coats down to her for her to wear

  7. Hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have 6 greyhounds ages are 4 up to almost 15.

What group did you get your grey from???

    Nittany Greyhounds-State College, PA

three are from Going Home Greyhounds, One a private adoption, one from Gold Coast and Hershey from Greyhounds Reach The Beach. There was a posting Ohio Grey needs a home and i was the lucky person to get this holigan

  8. Three of our females get about 1 1/2 cups twice a day, Belle who is the larger female and 4 years old gets 2 cups twice a day, Penske our only male gets about 2 1/4 cups twice a day. We feed a mixture of Authority adult & Lite. We also add about 1 tablespoon of canned and a small amount of water.

Softee who is almost 15 gets what ever she wants when she wants it (my vet said the older dogs only get about 60% nutrition out of what they eat) she also gets ensure if she is not eating. There are days that she has eaten about 5 cups of food in a day and she is as skinny as a rail. Vet says that all her vitals are greyt and the main problem she has is some arthritis in her hind legs. As long as she has quality of life we will keep her going and there are days I swear she acts like a puppy. She also gets glycoflex

  9. Hope you get the urine sample to the vet. I know from experience not to start an antibiotic until you have the urine sample and as someone said in a previous post some UTI's do not respond to certain antibiotics just like humans don't
