  1. Can someone suggest somethng other than marrow or knuckle bones for plaque. My 2nd grey loves them but then she gets a very upset stomach & severe diarrhea. The greenies do nothing & then my other grey pukes them up. (sorry to be so graphic). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  2. What is a smordle nodule or GME? I'm not familar with these terms. Zim is still in agony on rimydayl & tramadol. Now to top it off she is having voluminous diarrhea. She feels so miserable. Anybody out there actually have the surgery? Any input would be appreciated. In the back of my mind I keep feeling like she has OS but xrays back in 9/2010 were negative.

  3. Zim is experiencing terrible neck & leg pain. 2 vets think she has a herniated disk in her neck. She is currently on 2 pain meds & still is in pain although much better then the weekend. Spoke to my vet today who mentioned if she has continued pain she may need neck surgery to release the pressure on the nerve. Anybody gone through this? It's the last option in my mind but she cannot continue in pain like this. :(

  4. Lexi began limping & non weight bearing for 1-2 days before I brought her in. (although she had other signs she was sick) 1 set of xrays showed the lesion. My vet diagnsoed it right away.

I just had Zim a few months ago for the same thing & the same vet did xrays & did not see anything. I trust her opinion since she was spot on with Lexi.

    Keeping fingers crossed for you.

  5. Good news all around. If the (chain) vet is responsible for some or all of these costs due to ignorance of the breed, there should be refunds in the works.

I put Zim through a battery of tests when I 1st got her due to this same issue. Cr=2.0. I specifically asked my vet if it was related to the breed & he said no. I spent $$$ on a KD diet. After much research on my own (Dr Stack/Greyhound gang) I realized this can be normal for the breed. I doubt I could have ever gotten my money back. I transferred to a different vet right away. Spartan seems to be on the right track & hopefully will conitnue in the future.

  6. From reading your post it seems to me that Zero has now become quite comfortable in your home (which is a good thing) but now thinks he owns it. I would suggest no couch or furniture priviledges. I would also suggest an obedience class & Nothing in Life is Free. I had to practice this with Zim for over a year before things settled down here. Zim is also the type of dog that you have to exchange (ie bribe) with food to get her to do certain things. I only physically move her if she is muzzled - she will bite.

I know how upsetting this can be.
