  1. My Lexi was diagnosed last year. It was diagnosed by xray. I passed on the biopsy. My vet & a 2nd greyhound savy vet both felt it was 99% cancer. I choose not to amputate for many reasons - cost, quality of life, length of time it would have given my Lexi. I just took some time off from work, spoiled her as much a I could & had her put to sleep a few weeks later. She was just in too much pain. It is not easy & I hope not to go through it for quite some time. Read as much as you can & make the decision that is right for the dog & your family.

  2. I'm so sorry this has happened to you. I've been bitten & it is very upsetting. There is no way I could have Zim up on the bed with Patches. She is the head of this house (at least she thinks she is) & was here first. I agree that it my have been misdirected aggression. That said you have to be very careful that no one else including herself gets hurt. I also asked for thyroid testing when I was going through this & 2 vets said the same as yours. That thyroid disease is overdiagnosed & usually not the cause. If the vet thought some type of tumor did he suggest a CT/MRI scan. No further bed or couch priviledges. Can they be separated some way in your room at night so your new girl does not get bitten? Best of luck. I know how upsetting this is.

  3. How old is he? Mine have days of being more lazy then normal  But as long as they are eating well, no vomit or diarrhea I try not to pay too much attention. Zim turned 5 this past May & she sleeps more now than before which is a good thing if you knew Zim :colgate

  4. I used Banfield in Mass in August for my greys check up. I went to the walk in clinic where you have no appointment but can still get a full check up. I was thoroughly pleased. My bill was $89.00, they called me within an hour to let me know the heart guard testing was negative and did not push for a billion tests. They actually told me I did not need the heartguard testing but I did it anyway. If I went to my local vet the bill easily would have been $300.00. Also I got some shopping done while waiting :colgate

  5. Both times I've had 2 greys into the vets for a problem visit I pretty much had to tell them what I thought it was. 1 had an abnormal Xray which I brought to a greyhound experience vet for a 2nd opinion over 1 hour away (in a blizzard) & was told the dog had OS. The 2nd problem I came to greytalk & the people here were able to diagnose what the problem was just based on the description. My vet had no clue. Unless it is an emergency I come here first before going to the vet.
