  1. We are very familiar with UTI's...that's what it sounds like. Sending good thoughts.
  2. Oh yes...Gracie is a big time marker. sniff...pee...sniff...pee...by the time we get back she can't possibly have a drop left.

    I'm so sorry....very nice tribute.
  4. I used to feed the cats on the counter but now the food goes on top of the refrigerator. The litter box is downstairs behind a cat door. Gracie is professional counter surfer, nothing is safe from her.
  5. Good thoughts coming your way. We always think the worst.
  6. After Gracie was with us for few months and starting to settle in she started growling at my son. The advice I was given here was that she was jockeying for position with my son. I hope that is all it is with Rufus because with a little training (my son) and adjustment (no more unearned priveleges for Gracie) we have never had another incident. Good luck!
  7. We will get into a cycle of 3am wake ups every once in a while. Gracie will get up stand by the bed and I'll let her out because I think she has to pee and maybe she does. This goes on for a few nights because it sure is fun sniff around the yard at night. Eventually I get tired of it and tell her GO BACK TO BED and guess what? she does. We are good for a few months and then it starts over again.
  8. I am so so sorry. What a handsome guy.
  9. He's beautiful, but I'm partial to the red ones, he looks a lot like my Gracie. Welcome from Connecticut...where we are still waiting for that big storm.
  10. We loved your ornament! After I take it off the tree we are going to use it as a suncatcher. The card was pretty cool too.

    Thanks!!!! Yvette

  11. I couldn't find any OTC wormer so off to the vet we went with our sample. $100 later, one bite wound & two angry cats, we are worm free. The vet said since Gracie is on Frontline she wouldn't need any worm meds. I also got Frontline for the cats but just couldn't bring myself to confront the beasts anymore last night. That will have to wait until tonight.
  12. Has anyone every used over the counter wormer before?
  13. What I can't figure out is how he got the darn things. The cats don't go out and Gracie is on Frontline. I haven't found any evidence of fleas on anyone. Bode did escape for about an hour not too long ago...maybe he ate a mouse while he was AWOL?
  14. My husband reported a bloody stool in the litter box so I checked under both cats' tails and found a wormie under one. ICK Is this something I can treat with OTC medicine from the pet store or do I need to bring in a stool sample to be tested to get prescription meds? I saw the worm so I know what the problem is. How about the other critters? Do they need to be treated too? I haven't seen any signs of worms on them.
  15. Gracie is on a prescription diet already..Royal Canin S/O for crystals in her urine. Her last UTI was in July and the most recent just last week. The antibiotic was Orbax/Baytril/Dicural which they said was pretty strong. They did recommend a full culture if she gets another UTI. Thanks for all the advice.
  16. She was on a 7 day anitbiotic. Her urine wasn't cultured but I just had it rechecked yesterday and she is clean. We have city water. Today I am going to talk to our regular vet and see what she thinks. I am going to ask her about the Estriol.
  17. Gracie keeps getting UTI's and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. My vet said maybe it's structural and she could get a vulvectomy to make sure urine wasn't getting left in her vulva . Also, it may be that she squats too low and gets germs on her that way. One other thing he suggested is that I wipe her after she pees. The vulvectomy seems a little drastic to me....any ideas?
