Summer Safety: Add Your Best Tip

Recommended Posts

I'd love to get a nice, big summer safety tip thread going here.  Even after decades with greyhounds, I still run across safety tips I never heard before.

For instance, I didn't realize that on July 4th, more pets get lost than any other day of the year.  This video has more helpful tips.  Fill in the many I have missed, and help keep all our greys safer this summer!

Thanks!

Gail

Musher's Secret which is used to protect paw pads in the winter can also help in the summer for hot pavement (but best to avoid hot pavement altogether if you can).

Check collars, leashes & harnesses for fit, wear and tear. Add a carabiner clip to your leash as a backup should the hardware fail or get stuck on something.
