Fruitycake
The sad irony of many/most veterinarians harping about how unsafe it is to feed raw or home-cooked diets and yet *prescription* diets having these problems....

Hubcitypam
It has been posted many places that most vets receive most of their nutrition training via courses sponsored by Hills. I won't touch it. They used to use peanut hulls as filler in their light/tarter control. Now it is just powdered cellulose which could be any plant fiber from cotton to sawdust. When Poodle became diabetic I flat out told my vet I would not feed w/d. I was not feeding these first seven ingredients:Whole Grain Wheat, Whole Grain Corn, Powdered Cellulose, Chicken Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Whole Grain Sorghum, Soybean Mill Run.
