GreyAcresMom
I had bloodwork done, only because she is 12. Kinda getting old for a Grey. I don't have blood work results in had so might be premature. Everything good but kidney levels. Vet said should be 1.5. Kala is 1.7. Recommended KD Food. Money back guarantee if she doesn't like it. Any thoughts on this? Recommendations? Thanks. Quote Sheila and COwww.greyacres.com
krissy
Have them check a urine specific gravity. Greyhounds frequently have higher kidney values than other breeds. If urine concentration is normal then the kidneys are fine... if first morning urine concentration is poor then treat for kidney disease. GreyAcresMom
Sorry, does that mean I catch the urine? First morning? Quote Sheila and COwww.greyacres.com

JohnF
Use a clean long-handled pan to catch it. A useful understaning of Canine Kidney Disease may be read about here.

tbhounds
Wonderful news--normal renal values-not sure why your vet recommended a script renal diet. Edited May 3, 2017 by tbhounds
GreyAcresMom
I also saw that there was a SPECIFIC GRAVITY URINALYSIS 1.036 though it was not first morning. According to everything I have found to read she has really great results. She claimed she had very extensive greyhound experience, and she knew the difference in blood values for a greyhound. Damn, hate this. Thanks everyone. Quote Sheila and COwww.greyacres.com
