Guest Celestrina
Angie is on antibiotics after a laceration and stitches. Is it possible to get a UTI while on antibiotics? She has been peeing in the house at times, even if it hasn't been very long after a walk. I'm going to take a pee sample on Monday to be sure. JohnF
Yes they can... usually yeast or 'thrush' which can take hold. Ask your vet.
MaryJane
Yes, she could get a UTI. The antibiotic may be one that the bacteria is not sensitive to and as a result, have no effect.
GeorgeofNE
The only time you actually SHOULD give your dog yogurt is while it's on antibiotics (it's OK to do it, but some people seem to think it's necessary). The "good" bacteria in the yogurt helps prevent urinary tract issues. Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav. One thing to remember is to give a probiotic at a different time when giving an antibiotic ;-)
