Guest Lillypad
We have moved from inside agility to outside. The training facility is called "Agility on the River" and our class time is 7 to 8 evening, rain or shine. So.... the mosquitoes are going to be crazy vicious. I was there mid afternoon on a hot sunny day to help set up the field and they were annoying then... so I can only imagine. I am looking at a product called "Flicks" for the hound. Contains only lanolin; oils of cedarwood, eucalytptus, lemongrass, pepperment, cajeput, and pennyroyal, in that order. No chemicals or dyes. Before I part with the 35.00 dollars, anything in the mix I need to worry about and any suggestions appreciated. Thanks all.
Guest normaandburrell
Here in buggy Florida our adoption group recommends skin so soft.
Guest Lillypad
Funny, Hubs and I were talking about that ("Skin so Soft"). Isn't it really oily though, I don't want to be cleaning it off the sofa and carpet. But yes, thanks I will consider that product.

I am OK with the short effectiveness, that really is what I am after, just for the duration of class. Don't want it lingering on like regular bug spray or deet products. 3DogNite
I like a couple mixes. Choose what you have/like: Citrus mix/heavy on the Lemon Lemongrass Clove Cedar From young living oils:purification,,, a blend of several above 😊 Will repel ticks and fleas too Quote lorinda, mom to the ever revolving door of Foster greyhounds Always in my heart: Teala (LC Sweet Dream) , Pepton, Darbee-Do (Hey Barb) , Rascal (Abitta Rascal), Power (Beyond the Power), and the miracle boy LAZER (2/21/14), Spirit (Bitter Almonds) 8/

XTRAWLD
I use Off! kids spray. After hiking in the woods, it's often the only thing that works. I spray it on my hands to put in on their face, and I reapply when the bugs start trying to get them again. There was a dog friendly bug spray I bought a long time ago with essential oil hoohaw, but it didn't seem nearly potent enough to ward off a few bugs in my backyard let alone the ones that are the size of a small car in the woods. Guest chickenpotpie
If you can find it, Off makes a spray for pets. I use it on Lucky (and myself...lol) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K0O0W2W/
Neighsayer
Someone on here suggested Beat It. I liked it. It did the trick and smelled ok. Most of those all natural products do nothing, but this did work.
