Thanks everyone for your warm welcome! His ears are awesome, but even more awesome is the little mohawk running along the center of his neck, from his ears down to mid-neck. It's really cute! And the way he silently chatters :heart

His name is derived from the name of the Hindu god Shiva, who is said to represent both creation and destruction. In the ancient Vedanta texts, this god was also called Shivaya. We resonate with the letter Z, so just put a Z in place of the S.

 

I know in Czech, zivy (z with a hacek) means alive. I hadn't know the Russian equivalent. Thanks for letting me know :)

 

I'm glad you like the name. It only took him a couple of days to learn it, and now he always answers to his new name :heart
