Wonder
I noticed Lucky limping last night. I touched his paw and felt a lump between the pads. The only thing I can think of is a splinter. I have mulch and wood chips in my yard so if he were running, he could have gotten it that way. Hard to take a picture If it is a wood sliver, I guess it entered between his toes while running. Lump right in the middle He gets antibiotics the first week of every month so I started them last night. He got a treat after his pills Also will soak it in epsom salt 2- 3 times a day. He's eating an acting normal. Not even limping today. Took his temp last night and normal as well. Should I try this? clicky Any other thoughts on what it might be? -------------------------------------------------------- Update 12/30 I'm pretty sure it's a seed wart I'll take a better look with a flash light when we get home from work. He was messing with it a second ago and it looks like the seed wart that Passion had. Edited December 31, 2011 by Wonder Quote Kari and the pups.Run free sweet Hana 9/21/08-9/12/10. BatterseaBrindl
If there is 'something' embedded in there, soaking in epsom salts may help, but I'd be inclined to take him to the vet. They can freeze the area and get 'it' out quickly. And..just curious... Why does he get antibiotics one a month? Batmom
I'm with BatterseaBrindle on this one. At the very least, see if you can recruit somebody useful to hold him for you so you can get a really good look at it. Best luck! Wonder
I've been looking at it twice a day to see how it's doing. This morning it wasn't red but still a lump. He's not limping at all. I didn't have time to soak it before work so will do that twice tonight. He lets me touch his foot and only pulls his paw away if I press on it.
