Burpdog
By JoNel Aleccia Chicken jerky treats may be to blame for dozens of new reports of mysterious illnesses and some deaths in dogs, prompting a renewed warning for pet owners by the Food and Drug Administration. At least 70 dogs have been sickened so far this year after reportedly eating chicken jerky products imported from China, FDA officials said. That's up from 54 reports of illness in 2010. Some of the dogs have died, according to the anecdotal reports from pet owners and veterinarians. tbhounds
Thanks for posting. Chicken jerky is so easy to make at home. All it takes is a $30 dehydrator and some thinly sliced skinless chicken breast. I don't cook for myself but, even I can make chicken jerky! JAJ2010
I've been on the fence about buying some duck jerky from Costco that's on sale... I think I'll stick with the beef treats from the USA Quote ------ Jessica
nmontgomery48
I use to buy the chicken jerky from costco, but after reading an article months ago, I quit buying them. No matter where I look, they are all made in China. seeh2o
Even the duck treats at Costco are from China. Maybe we should start a letter writing campaign to them about only carrying treats from trusted countries. They are actually vey responsive to emails, in my experience.
