My 1" martingale leash came with my hound and I use it often, despite it's hideous pylon-orange colour. It's very lightweight (as it is nylon), but be sure to have your dog sport a regular ID collar just in case. I can't attest to this site's product quality, but they are reasonably priced

(Sunset and Blue Paisley are beautiful, too!)

Hope this helps.

Midwest Greyhound adoption that sells them. I know they go to GIG and Dewey every year.

this is what I was looking for....thanks all

Just a heads up, I find that particular kind very hard to adjust. I have had many new dogs that come with them and they are a pain! Maybe it's just me.

Though I do not own one, I have heard very good things about Hogan's products. Have seen some collars & slipleads. Those were very, very nice.

Stibbar also has attractive but very functional braided leather martingale leashes:

http://www.stibbar.com/Store/Dogs/M-full-braid.htm Her website is a bit screwy but she is nice & will answer email questions relatively quickly considering how often she's on the road.

I own one of these but only the collar portion is braided. For function I like it better & was 1/2 the price. It is wonderfully soft & is wearing quite well. Be aware though that the softness also means it will stretch. I bought it with a collar portion an inch shorter than I would normally get because of this. It's worked out perfectly.

Sit Up n' Beg does custom work. Her leashes feel so good & are strong. She makes lovely martingale collars & nice martingale show leads. It's highly likely she could make a beefier martingale lead for you.

Just adding those since you mentioned leather.

Edited because I am incompetent.

My lovely wife (Kansasgrey) makes a very simple one piece martingale/lead that we use for walking our pups. She has an etsy store (Hound's closet) but I don't know if she has them for sale there or not. I love them, very solid, and no clips to mess with.

That's pretty much what we have! Love them. Lightweight and very handy to slip on/off.

Edit: Your hound is adorable! Love those markings and ears :)

I bought some from Janet Crowley on Etsy - they are amazing and very well priced. Great colors. This was about a year ago, I assume she's still there...
