It's very lightweight (as it is nylon), but be sure to have your dog sport a regular ID collar just in case. I have had many new dogs that come with them and they are a pain! Maybe it's just me. I own one of these but only the collar portion is braided. For function I like it better & was 1/2 the price. It is wonderfully soft & is wearing quite well. Be aware though that the softness also means it will stretch. I bought it with a collar portion an inch shorter than I would normally get because of this. It's worked out perfectly. Sit Up n' Beg does custom work. Her leashes feel so good & are strong. She makes lovely martingale collars & nice martingale show leads. She has an etsy store (Hound's closet) but I don't know if she has them for sale there or not. I love them, very solid, and no clips to mess with.
