Does the fruit flavored tums do any harm to greys? Mine is to get tums 1 a day, and I have some, but they are the berry flavored - thanks for your help.

I don't think the flavor matters, but it should be just the "Regular" tums. And check to make sure there's no hidden artificial sweetener in it.

 

If he's getting tums for a sour stomach a famotidine (generic Pepcid) might be more effective.

The vet prescribed it along with cayenne and a clove of garlic - GI stuff...

A veterinarian told you to give your dog Tums, garlic, and cayenne pepper?

 

It's fairly common for vets to recommend Pepcid or a similar acid blocker (works for 24 hours, whereas a Tums is extremely short acting).

 

Love to know what the rationale for pepper and garlic is.
