Guest kerber
Does the fruit flavored tums do any harm to greys? Mine is to get tums 1 a day, and I have some, but they are the berry flavored - thanks for your help.
greysmom
I don't think the flavor matters, but it should be just the "Regular" tums. And check to make sure there's no hidden artificial sweetener in it. If he's getting tums for a sour stomach a famotidine (generic Pepcid) might be more effective. The vet prescribed it along with cayenne and a clove of garlic - GI stuff...
GeorgeofNE
A veterinarian told you to give your dog Tums, garlic, and cayenne pepper? It's fairly common for vets to recommend Pepcid or a similar acid blocker (works for 24 hours, whereas a Tums is extremely short acting). Love to know what the rationale for pepper and garlic is. grey8greys
Abel loves the fruit flavored Tums, he gets one when I take them. When his tummy is really upset I give him Pepcid, which the Vet recommended
