Jiffer
Yup! It's what my vet gave me for Echo when she came home for those last two days (the generic version of it). greysmom
It's fine. Generic famotidine is usually cheaper than brand name Pepcid. Give about 45 minutes prior to eating for better effectiveness. Guest FullMetalFrank
I give Jewels a pepcid every day because she has a bit of reflux. It has been really helping her!
Guest MZH
How does one know if an animal has reflux and would benefit from Pepcid or any meds of that ilk? I always wondered.
joejoesmom
FYI, the typical greyhound dose of famotidine is 15 to 20mg twice a day, about 30 to 45 minutes before meals.
Guest ravenchilde
yup! The e-vet gave Miley famotidine when she was vomiting a few months ago. Given 30-60 minutes before a meal is best.

Figma
Yes, I get the CVS brand, same as Pepcid. Our Grey gets 20 mg twice a day, per our Vet's orders
mom2zeus
I know with cats with CRF the rule of thumb is if they are throwing up bile then they have reflux issues. It's very common with cats with CRF and they can take pepcid. but we've been lucky so far with our girl. My SIL's older grey also took it.
