Tracey
Update 12/21: We have yellow pee!!!!!! I have a call into Dr. Matz, but I think Reggie's going to be just fine! Thanks for the advice and good thoughts!!! ----------- Update: I took Reggie out as I had an inkling it might be him. It is. I called Dr. Matz and she had me check a few things; his incision, the whites of his eyes, his gums -- all fine. She told me to give him something to eat with a lot of water mixed into it and to keep an eye on him overnight and see how his urine looks in the morning. So I mixed up some canned Purina One soup, basically. He drank the whole thing. She also said no more Rimadyl. So now I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope his pee looks better in the morning. Please keep Reggie in your prayers. ----------- I just let all three boys out a few minutes ago. I stepped away for a minute to wipe up a patch of floor and when I went to let them in I saw that there was a patch of dark orange, almost red urine in the snow. I have no idea who it was. They all seem fine, eating and drinking normally. No one is acting like their boy bits are bothering them in the least. Could the Rimadyl or Ciprofloxacin they are both (foster boys) on cause this? I'll go out with them next time to see if I can pin down who this is, but what else should I do, if anything? ahicks51
Blood in the urine is bad juju with Rimadyl. Check for a sweet scent as well. Call the vet; discontinue use of the painkiller until OK'd by a vet. Quote Coco (Maze Cocodrillo) Minerva (Kid's Snipper)
Greys4Us
I can only tell you what I would do. Get urine samples from all and take to the vet to test. We do that here a lot. Our vet does not require that they come in for an appointment. Make sure you mark on each sample which dog it came from. It's much cheaper per sample than a vet visit for each dog. Guest ThunderPaws
Wanted to mention that one of my fosters had dark orange/brownish urine and ended up having Babesia Canis! Just something to keep in mind.

BauersMom
I would stop the rimadyl, for sure. We just had a dog who was cryptocrid and he definitely peed blood for a good day and a half after his neuter. We had him seen and the vet felt that it was largely the bruising from his surgery, but it was scary to see. He's totally fine now. Batmom
Good you talked to the vet and discontinued the med, but don't panic. Chances are he'll be fine and peeing a nice yellow within 24 hours.
