Guest Energy11
Liver functions in the complete panel, not the CBC, but sometimes changes in the CBC can indicate problems, which cause the vet or doctor to look into liver function problems. Sound like Lola is doing VERY well, considering! Keep up the good work!
Guest mcsheltie
A CBC includes only a blood count. Red/white cells (size & content) and platelet count. A Chem Panel gives the other values. Including liver, kidney, pancreas. Keep getting better girl!!!!
duncan41
I have been holding my breath, wanting to check on Lola, afraid to check on Lola, wanting to, afraid to, back and forth, back and forth. So glad I finally grew a spine and checked! It certainly sounds so much better than a few days ago! Thanks to Dad and friend for coming to the rescue. As far as bloodwork is concerned, some Vets prefer Specific Canine Pancreatic Lipase (SPEC cPL) as the test to confirm pancreatitis. In Lola's case, the out of whack chem panel woul be expected. Saying massive prayers for Lola. Batmom
If she's very very well hydrated, she might have to go more often than she feels like getting up. Not guaranteeing that's the case, but could be. People sometimes see this in their pets after surgery, when the vet has been particularly diligent in giving fluids. Thank you. I was just starting to exhale when he mentioned the liver/jaundice piece. He hopes this is not "the tip of the iceburg on a bigger problem."
