Hi,

I'm Karen and I adopted Sambuca "Bu" in October. He's a wonderful big black/brown boy. We can't really figure his color out. He is already my best buddy. His racing name was "Mike needs gas". It's true. He is the LAZIEST dog I have ever met, including other greys. I'm ok with that. I got a grey because I wanted a lazy dog. Bu goes almost everywhere with me. I'm a dog walker and pet sitter so he even goes to work with me. He is a sweet boy who is totally cat safe, small dog safe (in fact he prefers playing with small dogs than big dogs), other breed safe and he's great with kids. He has already convinced at least 1 family that their next dog is going to be a greyhound. I really couldn't be happier with him.

Thanks for reading,

Karen and Bu

(I can't post pictures from this computer, so I'll have to try going over to my parents.)

When I got him (right off the track) we thought he looked a bit brown and that after a bath he would go back to black. But after the bath he still looks like a really really dark brown. He even has some reddish undertones. If you glance quickly he definitely looks black, but in the light he's brown. It's very odd. I love him either way, so it doesn't really matter, I would just like to be able to describe it accurately.

Hi Karen welcome to you and Bu.

Black racers often look brownish, it's his kennel coat. You'll find in a few months he will start to darken.
