Guest MandyDAD
Help! My 2yr grey girl has a thing for rocks. Not big chokers just ones the size of kibble. I called the Vet the first time and he said not ot worry unless she vomiting or not eating. How do I stop her from consuming any more? When I do catch her with one I get it out of her mouth but sometimes you just can't get to her fast enough. And now it's not just rocks it seems she wants to eat anthing she can get her mouth on. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Guest pappiea
I feel your agony. I have a 3 year old doing the same thing! She only goes out with supervision. Also we did the duck tape to her muzzle thing. Just leave a little at the top. Sometimes she still amazes me how she ate something, but it has been a lot better with the covered muzzle. Good luck! Guest GreysAndMoreGreys
I would muzzle with a poop cup or the tapped muzzle. Eating those rocks is not a good thing, if they don't pass they can add up in the tummy and it's not a good thing
Chicocat
I agree with Heather - I'd muzzle with a poop cup. That's how Laurie's boy "Miracle Marbles" got his name, following the surgerys that saved his life when he was growing up. Quote Ann
MP_the4pack
Also, try adding vitamins. Sometimes things like this get started because something is missing in the diet.
duncan41
The vitamins helped with Fuzz, aka "The Rock Eater", but didn't eliminate it. Everybody wears muzzles with poop cups at our house. The peace of mind is well worth it! GeorgeofNE
We had an English Setter who had to have surgery from eating rocks two or three times! Pica is a condition that basically involves eating inappropriate things. Muzzle should work! Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav.
