Steven had been sick on and off for about a month, with ultrasounds showing "spots/lesions/masses" near his pancreas and a belly full of white blood cell-laden fluid, yet his pancreatitis tests all kept coming back negative. The vet was just not sure what to think or do short of exploratory surgery as our next option if antibiotics failed. We went home after the last bout of illness with massive amounts of antibiotics, a low-fat diet and many, many prayers. Steven has had 3 weeks of healthy, normal behavior and put all 7 pounds back on that he had lost. Today we went in for a follow-up ultrasound to see what the future held: surgery or no surgery. Much to everyone's amazement, those spots/lesions/masses are COMPLETELY GONE! And no weird fluid in his tummy! The vet said he has never seen a case resolve like this, and is flabbergasted. He said he would never have guessed that those spots would disappear and was prepared for bad news. We'll finish this last round of antibiotics and pray, pray, pray that whatever it was going on in there never comes back! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
