Guest greytmonty
Just when we thought it was safe to go back in the water.... err... anyway: Monty is JUST getting over his gastroenteritis. The D and barfing have stopped, and he is on 3/4 real food and 1/4 bland food. While I was out this afternoon he broke into the kitchen and ate the bowl of a wooden serving spoon! Augh! I called the vet who says to watch him for any sign of obstruction over the next 24 - 48 hours. That could look like vomiting, retching, straining, or lots of D. MONTY! Guest LynnM
I know Monty has a lot of special needs, but I can share that among my iron gutted pack members, wooden spoons are favorites if they can get to them. Fortunately, not much gets eaten in any chunks... it's more of a chew. When foster Big Moe was here, I made regular trips to Target for wooden spoons and underwear No harm done, but that was a dog that would take a LOT to mess up. Lynn So I take it Moe just digested the darn things? Monty that's just not the way to get more fiber in your diet, honey. Monty just wasn't satisfied with the homemade food and fancy kibble! Guest LynnM
I guess he digsted them... he chewed them and whatever he got, he got in small bits... no large (obstructable) chunks. Nothing ever passed that was recognizable as part of a wooden spoon, which is more than I can say for my underwear (those VS waistbands pass quite well and intact).
