rascalsmom
Last night I noticed Ruby's outer toe on her back leg was dislocated. The dogs had been running around in the yard earlier in the day, but I didn't notice this till bedtime. She was limping a bit, but nothing too bad. This morning I Googled "dislocated toe in dog" and up came a result from GT! I followed perfectweather's advice, and made my DH pop the toe back into place this morning. He didn't want to, but I suggested that I might have to take her to the vet tomorrow, and that did the trick. Ruby gave a big yelp when he did it, but she is feeling MUCH better now! Oh, the power of GT and its vast base of knowledge!! Quote Phoebe (Belle's Sweetpea) adopted 9/2/13. Jack (BTR Captain Jack) 9/28/05--11/2/12Always missing Buddy, Ruby, and Rascal. turbotaina
Try and keep her foot wrapped the next 21 days to allow the tendon to heal. If the tendon doesn't heal, she'll be likely to dislocate it again. Quote Meredith with Heyokha (HUS Me Teddy) and Crow (Mike Milbury). queenwinniesmom
Yikes! No wonder he didn't want to do it! But husbands are handy that way, aren't they? Glad you got it back where it's supposed to be---hope it stays. Will you be at GIG? rascalsmom
Yikes! No wonder he didn't want to do it! But husbands are handy that way, aren't they? Glad you got it back where it's supposed to be---hope it stays. Will you be at GIG? I actually think it was the fact that DH didn't want another vet bill. He really didn't want to pop that toe back, but I gave him the "I do everything ELSE for these dogs" look.... No, we're not going to GIG. It's just too much for Buddy anymore. He's 11, and has slowed down a lot in the past few months. Plus, I'm in the bell choir at church and we are playing on Sunday. Quote Phoebe (Belle's Sweetpea) adopted 9/2/13. MerlinsMum
Poor Ruby! I am glad she is feeling better though. I laughed out loud when I read about I read about your DH popping the toe back in once you warned it might mean another vet bill. :lol Quote Kerry with Lupin in beautiful coastal Maine. Newgreymom
I would definetley wrap the foot. Daisy has dislocated her toe and the vet wrapped it so the ligaments, tendons could heal properly. Good luck..
