Guest larock
Walter's surgery was finished around 4pm and it went well, the vet said. His lump had been removed and the biopsy went well also. They are trending towards Inflamatory Bowel Disease but we will have the results on Monday. He was pretty groggy (could barely walk) when we went to get him at 7pm. I'm glad he's home thought, he's much more comforable here. He has an 8" insicion on his back flank but he's gotten up a few times on his own and ate a bit of breakfast. We'ver tried to get him to go business but he keeps wanting to go to the back of the yard and we've just had a foot of snow. Thank you all for your thoughs and well wishes. Rickiesmom
Lynn, just seeing this now - so glad everything went well and the issues Walter's been having are not from anything sinister. Please update when the path report came back. Rickie had a similar sounding lump removed last summer - hemangiopericytoma. There's a thread about it if this is what Walter had. Big hugs to that sweet boy (is Brightning trying to mother him now?).

Guest larock
Lynn, just seeing this now - so glad everything went well and the issues Walter's been having are not from anything sinister. Please update when the path report came back. Rickie had a similar sounding lump removed last summer - hemangiopericytoma. There's a thread about it if this is what Walter had. Big hugs to that sweet boy (is Brightning trying to mother him now?). Thanks Mary, He's doing well - back to his bossy self and eating like a horse. He has to wear a cone because he will not leave the bandage alone. Brightning was very happy to see him back and licked his head, she's not too motherly and usually doesn't fuss too much but is never more than 5 feet away from him at all times. We actually had the lump asperated and sent off prior to surgery so we did know it was cancerous and one that could protentailly be a problem if left. It will grow back but could take up to three years to get to the size it was, so we're not too worried about it. It's the path report for his intestines that we will get on Monday, I'll post the results on Monday. Hope you are all well.

Houndtime
Glad to see Walter came through his surgery ok. Gotta wear your cone head. John E did it for 5 weeks after his eye surgeries. He wasn't thrilled at all. Let us know when your reports come back.
