macoduck
A year ago Gracie had this come up on her toe: Vet wasn't sure what it was. While she didn't like it to be touched, she rarely licked it and there was no limping. Gracie was treated with Baytril and it went completely away. A year later it has reappeared in the same spot. I do not have any Baytril on hand, but I do have Cephalexin. Would it be OK to give her Cephalexin? Incidentally, a friend's grey got an identical bump on her hip. It was biopsied as a benign histiocytoma and given antibiotics. Batmom
I'd call your vet tomorrow and ask. Benign histiocytomas usually go away by themselves -- the antibiotics are for any secondary infection due to irritation, etc. Quote Star aka Starz Ovation (Ronco x Oneco Maggie*, litter #48538), Coco aka Low Key (Kiowa Mon Manny x Party Hardy, litter # 59881), and mom in IllinoisWe miss Reko Batman (Trouper Zeke x Marque Louisiana), 11/15/95-6/29/06, Rocco the thistledown whippet, 04/29/93-10/14/08, Reko Zema (Mo Kick x Reko Princess), 8/16/98-4/18/10, the most beautiful girl in the whole USA, my good egg Joseph aka Won by a Nose (Oneco Cufflink x Buy Back), 09/22/2003-03/01/2013, and our gentle sweet Gidget (Digitizer, Dodgem by Design x Sobe Mulberry), 1/29/2006-11/22/2014, gone much too soon. Greytlady94
I agree with Batmom, I would call the vet. Quote Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Guest D_MansMommy
I'd call the vet just to be safe. TC had the exact same thing on his toe and it went away on it's own.
