Newgreymom
Dylan had a partial amputation of his tail today. Was wondering what pain meds your vet prescribed for all who had tail amps. Dylan is on Tramadol...
Burpdog
Tramadol should be fine for him. How is he? How much did he lose? Quote Diane & The Senior Gang Burpdog Biscuits
Newgreymom
He's doing well. We are going to pick him up soon. They decided to take over 1/2 the tail as my Vet was afraid it would just keep happening if we didn't take that much. I'm just worried it will start to bleed at home... Penelopesslave
Our Bell was on Tramadol after her tail amp. She did very well and it healed beautifully within a couple of weeks, and she was 11 when she had her surgery. Quote Melissa, Penelope (LC's Wild Rose) Missing sweet Bell (EMK Bolivar Bell). krissn333
Ace was on Rimadyl I think. She did just fine. The key is to keep the tip covered with something hard (like a syringe tube) initially so that if he beats it on something the tail won't take the beating.
