Happy Tom?!? I'll Take What I Can Get!

This probably shouldnt be posted here, but Tom has had so many little "problems" since we got him that this is where most of my help comes from. Anyway this morning when he heard me start to get up, he jumped up, starting running around the room doing laps and then proceeded into the funniet little act that I have ever seen. He started at the door, ran, and jumped (landing) into a crouching position and started slapping his front paws on the ground giving a little but deep "woof!" in time with his paw slaps. Then he got up, did a few more laps, his tail whipping back and forth and starting jumping in place like a foot off the ground at a time. He continued this running, jumping, and WOOF!-ing until I was out of bed and dressed. It was great to see him so happy.

I wish he was like this all the time, it is strange to me that he could be like this in the morning and then revert back to his old extremely frightened and anxious self not minutes afterward. But at this point, we take what we can get. :lol

That's great! :colgate Sounds like he wanted you to maybe get up and take him somewhere? Would he go outside after this little fit of excitment? I know he's been afraid to in the past and I wonder if he acts like this again you could start associating it with something fun and outdoors like playing out back?

Whatever the excitement was about, I hope you see him do this again very soon!

It sounds like your boy has it in him but is still too new to his enviroment and once he get comfie you will probably see him happy all the time.

But if he has been with you for a while and is truely a "frightned" dog he will most likely suprise you often with happy dances. My cassie is like that and she has been with me 4yrs
