Guest LadyChester
One of our very special volunteers, Judy Santasiere, passed away yesterday at the age of 80. She was one of the most energetic, happy people I have ever met! She was so full of life and adored her greyhound, Hooper, as well as her beagle mix, Bugsy, her kitty and bird. She always helped with our meet and greets and told anyone who would listen about what special "angels" the greys are; Hooper was truly the light of her life. She became ill about 10 days ago and asked me to take care of Hooper for her until she was feeling better - they thought it was reaction to a medication she had begun taking but apparently it was a very aggressive cancer. I spoke with her daughter this morning and her wish was that my family would keep and take care of Hooper. So, under the saddest of circumstances we have a wonderful new hound in our family. He is pretty depressed at this point be we are hoping that our love will help mend his broken heart. Judy's first greyhound, Windy, will be waiting for her at the bridge. Godspeed, Judy ... we will miss you so much!

Patclara
My Great Aunt Josie always said, "You have to take the bitter with the sweet". And that is what has happened here. You have a wonderful new Greyhound and your friend and Hooper's Mom is gone. This is a lovely memorial to Judy that you have posted. She will be remembered by all the good she has done and all the love she had to give. She leaves a lovely legacy. I'm so sorry.

Guest TracyandLance
I never got to meet Judy but it sounds as if she was a very special person. Even though Hooper lost his mom he is going to a very nice family who will show him love and compassion to get through his emptiness and fill his heart once again. Thank you Reese family for taking him. Thoughts and prayer to Judy's family and friends. So sorry for your loss.
