  1. Ducky, can you please add Rich Ingersoll's name to the list?  He passed away unexpectedly on the 9th.  He was the president/founder/driving force of The Greyhound Alliance (and Sunburst Kennels in FL) and a HUGE advocate of the greyhounds.  GA has found homes for thousands of greyhounds all over the country for the past 11 years.  Prior to that he was instrumental in finding homes for hounds from the WI tracks (we'd do GUR's almost every weekend from WI to groups in MI and IN for the greyhounds from Dairyland in Kenosha).  He is survived by his wife Jerrie and many, many friends.

I know he was greeted by thousands and thousands of greyhounds in Heaven :cry1 :cry1

    thanks :(

Jen, I don't have pictures readily available, but I have the three boxes from the dogs I've had as an adult (I just lost Sammy in September) on a shelf in my living room. I didn't like the boxes provided by the crematorium, so I purchased different custom boxes for each dog. Those boxes are engraved as I desired and two have a space for a picture. I decided to put them in the living room because that's where I wanted them. If it bothers anyone else, they don't have to visit. Being able to see them when I'm working makes me feel better.  I also have each dog's tags on the shelf next to the boxes. I have also kept each dog's favorite toy, but I have them in my bedroom closet.

same here.  Rainey's and Nube's ashes are actually in my kitchen (sealed of course!) with the collars they were wearing when we let them go.

Larry and Zeke sit next to me on the side table right next to me here in the living room, also with their collars and the nice pawprints that the Evet had done ( I can even see Larry's corn impression in his :wow ) on top of each urn.  Our first 3 (non-greyhounds) are also in the living room not 10' from Larry and Zeke.  I spend 99% of my time in these two rooms so they all are very close.

I agree, if it bothers anyone that's their problem.  I want them close to me. :)

one of the new intakes in the local group had a sever negative reaction to the hookworm protocol- $5k later she is blind and a mess with neurological problems. do work with your vet and make sure that you don't poison your pup. it's a difficult task to clean them up. i personally would share the pro heart 6/12  regime and ask your vet a ton of questions.

which meds was she given?  Poor girl :(

  4. glad he ate better!

I too know how hard, frustrating and saddening it is to have a picky? non? weird? who knows what to call eater.  Our Zeke ate like a champ (soaked kibble with assorted goodies on top, pumpkin, yogurt, shaky cheese, etc.) to up and sudden not wanting to eat overnight.  I spent 3.5 years trying to get him to eat whatever I could get him to eat and spending HOURS every week cutting up various meats (raw) and cooking some with various degrees of success day to day.  It was so frustrating...when he did eat it was like winning the lottery.

I hope Jeter keeps eating well!  Sending hugs :grouphug
