  1. I'm saying LOTS of prayers for Clark!

Unfortunately Gen (Peanut) is right that our adoption group is a very small one with just a few volunteers, and a limited budget - and being in Michigan, everyone here is doing their best to just squeek out a living. Raising funds in such a economically depressed area is hard.

No one wants to have to make medical decisions based on available funds.

I also dropped Gen an email this morning to see if she would contact Dr Couto and see if he has any ideas for Clark.

I hope we can save this boy ..... :sad1

  2. :welcome

    Welcome from Michigan!

You'll find everything you need to know here ... we are a talkative bunch.

Until you can get a hound of your own, why not consider volunteering with your local Greyhound rescue group and get your "fix" that way! Groups are always in dire need of volunteers and you could do so much to help Greyhounds find their forever homes at the same time.

Do have to warn you - they wrap their way around your heart!

  3. First I want to say WELCOME !!!!

My Greys have nothing at all to do with little birds, so yours would be safe. :colgate

But now ... the big Canadian Geese that poop all over THEIR yard - deserves to be chased out and taunted! :lol

These critters are not "bird dogs" ... now if you had Bunnies or Squirrels - that MIGHT be a different story all together!

  4. Mac will open your heart to the right hound ....

It is the best way to honor him, to provide a forever home to another. He has shown you the power of Greyhound love .... there is nothing else in the world like it!

We all shared your sorrow when you lost Mac & We look forward to sharing with you your joy when you bring your

    new hound home!

  5. My experience with corns have been completely different from all of yours. :clap

When we adopted Doc at the end of January this year he had a terrible problem with corns - he literally had 2-3 corns on every one of his feet! (poor guy) He came with full medical records for the past five years and this was a constant problem with him, to the point that surgery was being seriously considered for him.

I hulled them out myself the first of February and filled the empty holes with Bag Balm and kept filling the holes with bag balm until they grew back closed.

Guess what .... 9 months later - he has NO corns on any of his feet today --- not a single one has grown back. I still check him every week for them coming back.

I don't know if the Bag Balm did it, or if was the change in his enviroment.

But my boy is corn free and limp free for the first time in years. :D

  6. You can also try to scramble up eggs with lots of cheese and cook some kibble in with it - sprinkle bacon bits over the top. With my Pup that was the only thing that kept him eating when he had Osteo.

My husband couldn't believe that I would cook breakfast for the dog each day (and not for him ... lol).

    Sending you both hugs!

    Cory
