  1. I like these poems... perhaps there is a line or two here that touches your heart? Rest well, Grover. *** FOUR FEET I have done mostly what men do, And pushed it out of my mind; But I can't forget, if I wanted to, Four-Feet trotting behind. Day after day, the whole day through-- Wherever my road inclined-- Four-Feet said, 'I am coming with you!' And trotted along behind. Now I must go by some other round-- Which I shall never find-- Some where that does not carry the sound Of Four-Feet trotting behind. --- Rudyard Kipling --- *** JUST MY DOG He is my other eyes that can see above the clouds; my other ears that hear above the winds. He is the part of me that can reach out into the sea. He has told me a thousand times over that I am his reason for being: by the way he rests against my leg; by the way he thumps his tail at my smallest smile; by the way he shows his hurt when I leave without taking him. (I think it makes him sick with worry when he is not along to care for me.) When I am wrong, he is delighted to forgive. When I am angry, he clowns to make me smile. When I am happy, he is joy unbounded. When I am a fool, he ignores it. When I succeed, he brags. Without him, I am only another man. With him, I am all-powerful. He is loyalty itself. He has taught me the meaning of devotion. With him, I know a secret comfort and a private peace. He has brought me understanding where before I was ignorant. His head on my knee can heal my human hurts. His presence by my side is protection against my fears of dark and unknown things. He has promised to wait for me... Whenever...wherever--in case I need him. And I expect I will--as I always have. He is just my dog. --- Gene Hill ---
  2. I am so very sorry. It's so hard to lose them. Your love and care brought her to a ripe old age, but they are just never here long enough. I'm sure she and Chaos are having a happy reunion. Rest well, grand old lady. Send your family a sign that you are watching over them. God bless.
  3. I am so very sorry. My tears and prayers are with you. She looks so much like my sweet Sissy who crossed the bridge last year. Godspeed, bright angel. Send your family a sign that you're OK... OK?
  4. What a beautiful tribute. My tears and my prayers are with you. You were SO blessed to have this magnificent boy in your life. I'm so sorry. You keep looking after your mama, you hear, bright angel?
  5. Wow, what a long happy life he had! I had a kitty that lived to be 21 too. Maybe they can compare really-old-kitty notes at the bridge! Godspeed, Ralphie. You did good, buddy. Wishing you peace and hoping you find comfort in your memories.
  6. Rest well, sweetheart.
  7. I voted "special needs" because Hoovie is epileptic, but (thank God) his seizures are well controlled so far. Bloo has a touchy tummy every couple of months, but I don't consider that an ongoing problem. Border collie Lacy has Cushing's and is on meds, but it is also well-controlled and not a problem right now.

Please accept our sympathies. Susie, rest well sweetie. You brought much joy to many hearts.
  10. Rest well, bright angel. We know you're up there, forever whole and young, still slaying those dragons. Know that we are all down here, praying for your family and trying very hard to slay the horrible dragon that stole you from your family.
  11. WOW.... that is just the most beautiful thing!
  12. I know there are no words to make you feel better right now. Please know that we are all out here crying and grieving right along with you, admiring this last, loving gift of dignity you've given to your sweet girl. Miss Nellie, your new life as a guardian angel begins today. Thank you for inspiring all of us. We'll work very hard to find a cure for the disease that took you too soon. Run free, brave girl, and watch over your family until they can see you again.
  13. I'm so very sorry. It's just awful when you aren't expecting it. Run free, beautiful boy.
  14. Praying that your baby needs nothing more than a good rest and some extra cuddles.
