  1. think she will want to take a cruise with me? What will her DH to be think ??
  2. actually I spend a lot of time there working, no need to go back for a vacation. Besides, Tammy is afraid to take a cruise. I've been trying to get her to take one, but she won't. I'd love to be on a ship, get waited on hand and foot, and not have to do a darn thing. Thanks to everyone for the donations!
  3. It has backup power, 512MB of RAM and a GIG-E connection to the internet backbone
  4. The reoccurring server fee is $106 per month. The domain name is about $12 per year. Moving to the new server we used $300 in consulting costs, with about another $70 planned next month for a PHP and MySQL upgrade.
  5. Thanks everyone, we are doing very well. 13 donations so far, with another 7 people requesting information for snail mail. I won’t mention any names to keep it anonymous for those who wish to remain anon, but thank you all very much.
  6. Thanks Bill, and to those who have made a donation:)
  7. Now, well into its third year of operation, Greytalk has an established web presence. We have recently moved to a new server with a much higher associated cost to continue keeping Greytalk a fast, fun and enjoyable place to learn, share, and just plain have fun. Until now, I have taken on the sole burden of all costs. If you feel Greytalk has ever given you something to think about, saved you a trip to the vet, saved you money on food, toys, or helped you sell your own product, I'd like to ask that you please think about making a donation. I try to think of Greytalk as a magazine or an online digest. If you feel the same, please think about making a “subscription” donation. I have made 2 new links on the forum. There is a button at the bottom of the main page and another within the My Controls > Purchase Paid Subscriptions area. They will take you to another information page which you can see * HERE * , after which, you can make a decision whether you would like to make a donation. There are no set donation amounts since I realize everyone has different and ever changing financial situations. Donate as little or as much as you feel comfortable with. We have had a range from $5 through several hundred dollars. Thank You, Jeff Rosenberg Greytalk.com

  9. We all enjoy seeing pictures and text in member signatures, but in order to maintain the layout and to ensure a speedy response for members using slower dialup connections, the following guidelines are imposed on member signatures. The new "Commercial" guidelines are to stop the look of the "Virtual Billboard" that has been becoming more prevalent. Signature Policy Text - 4 lines total and this includes blank lines. There is also a size limit on text: only one line of large text, no bigger than size 7; the rest of the lines of text should be size 4 or less. {the standard post text is size 3} Images - total combined size cannot exceed 15k in file size and 500x150 image size, and should be pet related. Only one row of images. No animation other than local emoticons. Commercial Advertisements (logos/images/text) - 275x75 image size or less and only one line of text (this goes toward your 4 lines total). Your commercial logo counts toward your total Image size of 15k and 500x150, here are two examples to use as a guide on the maximum allowable size. Advertising is limited for your own product. Greytalk does not allow links or images promoting related forums in signatures. We do not advertise ourselves on other Greyhound forums and we expect the same courtesy in return. What is meant by pet related? We want to see pictures of your greyhounds or the other dogs or cats or bunnies or what have you that you have living with you. This is a pet greyhound board, so we'd like to keep the signature images grey related, but realize that not all people here have greyhounds and that they also have other pets in their home they'd like to show off. If you don't have a greyhound or other pet you'd like in your signature, but have an image you would like to use, please PM a moderator to ask if the image is ok before using it (maybe you have some nice vaca pics or pics of something in your local area, etc). Also, we will not consider pictures of your merchandise to be pet related (even if the merchandise is). This means no line of pictures showing the products you are selling. You can have an image (or images) in your commercial logo, but please, do not use the image space in your signature as a place to advertise your products. You have a web page you can do that on or you can post that in the Merchandise forum. No political or religious messages - subject to staff interpretation Maximum "personal" image size: To check the size, both physical and file size, do the following. Put your MOUSE OVER the image and RIGHT CLICK. Next choose PROPERTIES Next look at the following, WIDTH, HEIGHT, and SIZE OF FILE, they all need to meet the each of the above guidelines. FireFox users will see this screen Internet Explorer users will see this *** Not adhering to these guidelines may lead to removal of your signature without warning. ***

  17. First, go to the place where you are storing your photo's. *They MUST be on the Internet somewhere, and that site MUST allow remote linking.* Choose the photo you want to post and open it from its thumbnail size. (If you do not already have an internet sotrage location, GT Supporters can link from their gallery, all others need another place to link from, photobucket, flickr, etc.) After Choosing the photo, put your mouse pointer directly on it and right click. See the new window that opened? Go all the way to the bottom line and click, Properties. A new box will open. Highlight the URL as I have in this example. Then right click on the highlighted portion and select COPY. Now you are ready to come back to Greytalk and post your photo in a reply. Use the IMG button provided and paste your saved, URL in the box. That's all there is to it. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask, we're here to help.

  19. Vicky, who is currently one of the members who puts together the "littermates" list we are using for the site design, was also looking at our list, here is some of what she found.
  20. For those users who want to be included in the "littermates" web site, we will need your e-mail address IN THE FUTURE, we don't want it now, but just keep that in mind. It will not be visible to anyone, but it will be needed if and when a sibling match is found. We are also working to have photos along with the Greys, so you will be able to store a picture (size undecided) along with your Greys data
  21. No longer at the power plant??
  22. There won't be any need to choose between the two. They can all be in one column. I'll e-mail you the actual list we need to use. It is in a slightly different table format. Very similar, but slightly different
  23. My plans go forward to m ake a "Littermates" finding website. I have a list of a few hundred people looking for littermates. I would love to combine out list with that one, but it would need a few more tables. Left Ear tattoo # is a big one, also e-mail addresses are a must to the member can be contacted if a match is made. The e-mail addresses will be secure from spam bots (in planning) as I hope to use form mail and ID numbers rather than viewing the real address. If the lists merge, it will only be after member consent of course.
