  1. Completely normal behaviour. You got your princess a subject for Christmas and now she is making sure he knows who just turned queen of the parlor. They will settle in a few weeks. It's always a good sign when they lay the rules immediately (in my opinion). My new boy Abu thought he could climb the ladder of hierarchy in our pack the day before yesterday and growled at Paddy to move off the sofa.... Bad idea. Paddy showed him who is the leader of the pack (and hubby was there to supervise and to interrupt if it got out of hand) but it was over in a few seconds. The big blue ex-racer knows how to handle that little youngster.

I was trying to get my husband to read the german on your card... his company he works for is based in Germany and he's picked up a little German here and there.

Plus he figured with the last name Dietz he should know some LOL

It says the same in German as it says in English. I thought you might like our traditional christmas and new year's greeting.

The cards have been wonderful! Thank you to everyone for brightening the Season :Peace

Nadine, your card arrived yesterday from Germany. When I saw the handwriting I said that's Nadine :nod :)

I'm glad it worked. And my card from camp greyhound is already decorating my dining room all next to all the other lovely cards. ❤ I'm going to take a pic of all of them on the 25th. 😁

  4. Saoirse got startled easily by sudden sounds on our walks. She would panic and try to run either home or to the car. She started to dread walks and tried to avoid them at all costs.  I started her on melatonine chews and after 4 weeks she was a different dog, happy, loves to go out. She can even walk off lead in some areas because she can't be bothered with anything but staying with one of us. I would have never thought that the change would be that completely.

I got the melatonine chews from the UK.

Oh no! Nothing ever floated my way. Please let me know if you have any other stragglers and I will send you my info. This card exchange is the start of the holidays for me.

I don't have your adress. Please pm me so I can add you to my list.

  6. I had a very reactive greyhound. His name was Andy. He even tried to kill a galgo in his first foster home. He was the attack first, ask questions later kind of dog.

I walked him regularly and when we met other dogs I kept him behind me, turned him around so they didn't come up front. In canine behaviour it is very impolite towards a dog  and look it in the eyes. I always say it is like jogging into a group of real mean bikers and tell them they are ugly as sh... Just not the best idea.

A few weeks is nothing. Your new dog is getting used to everything around him. I would walk regularly always the same route for some weeks to increase his feeling of safety. The most important part is blocking his view of other dogs by keeping him behind or next to you or turn him around. And don't react verbally to him. He will think you are reacting to the other dog and increase his behaviour.

And if you want to give him some Bach's flowers I would recommend Walnut in his drinking water. Walnut is to help with changes in your life.

I don't want to be a killjoy but be careful you don't breach the European data protection rules. You might have to limit the participants to those not living in Europe.:(

I'm in since I joined greytalk and there has never been a problem. It is my own responsibility if I give my adress to someone else.
