Please let us know as soon as you know.....
I will.

They just took her back for x-rays. She wouldn't go without me. Usually, she loves to run around the office.
Her back end started to vibrate shortly after they gave her the pain injection. Sounded like hydro-metho-bupro--medical speak. Dunno if the shaking was pain or from the drug.
When this happened, I had just cracked a beer and was getting ready to wage war on my yard. I left the beer on the porch.

She was playing withher ball and starting screaming, she is weight bearing, but panting. Not the foot. Screams when I lift it. I'm so scared.
-
We've just scheduled the phone interview for next week - my wife is out of town 'til then.
I'm excited that things are progressing, at least so far.
Doesn't sound like you have a thing to worry about.

Muzzle both and let them play -- supervised. No collars or breakaway collars only.
My boy screamed when he had his foot in my flip flop. Screaming tends to be drama. The real injuries are often silent.
I don't consider my 8 year old a senior, and I certainly let him play with his 5 year old "sister". Hell, my friend lets her 14 year old play with them both, because her 10 year old is the fun police and refuses to let him be the goofball he is!
Disclaimer: Your dogs WILL get hurt at some point. Take them for stitches and don't worry about it. You probably already have pet insurance. If not, look into it. It lets you worry less!

Yay for Mazy!

ALL his teeth? That's awesome!

Thinking about you and Mazy today.

I actually called this rescue this evening. I just feel like a horrible person. I mean I know there is never given when you when you foster that this will not happen. I feel bad this is my first foster experience and this happened. Plus this is only day 3. His behavior just continues and continues. It seemed to get better some from the first day. But he stalks the cats and looks for the all the time when they are around.
You can't have that. You did the right thing.
My Brees would be on high alert and stressed all the time if she was in a home with cats. I would never do that to her.

Hoping ice cream is in Joe's near future.
Sending best wishes for the dentals on Monday.
He rejected it last night, but did eat a slurry of freeze dried dog kibble. Starving today and seeming mostly normal. I added in 1/2 a Tramadol to his meds because he was panting, then a storm hit. It should've been Xanax. Whoops! All is well.

I am so sorry.
-
Damn. Sorry to hear about today's seizure.
-
Sorry, Ducky!
He's still not interested in water, ice, or orange sherbet. Not dehydrated, so I should probably just have another beer and let him sleep. He peed a river when I picked him up.
Since he's not eating or drinking, I should wait until tomorrow to start Rimadyl and Clindamycin, right? I have Tramadol on hand if he gets owie, and he doesn't react badly to it.
Oh -- $477.50 with a single extraction. (+ $100 last week for exam and senior bloodwork) Would've been about 3x that at my local vet. And I scored a bunch of free noms! It was dog walking time when I dropped him off, so I got to walk a couple girls while I settled down. If anyone wants a GIANT girl who can only be a single hound, Flo is awesome!
ETA:
Burpdog crumbles did the trick. Three, mushed up, were hoovered right down. After that, some water went in. He doesn't look stoned anymore, either.

Excellent idea, Irene! I even have one. Somewhere.
He's friggin exhausted, but perked up a lot when his Daddy got home, and his eyes open when we move around.
I'll keep Mickey in my thoughts Monday.
-
We're home.
Note to self: buy buckle martingale because dog doesn't want collar pulled over his head after losing a tooth. Probably not a bad thing to have around, anyway.
-
Got him! He's only minus one of the furthest back molars. He had some trouble waking up, and is now passed out in the back of the car. We're heading home.
-
It's today. It's good that he has no idea, and will think it's just the best thing ever to take an early ride to the vet.
-
You can give him a benedryl. Take a pic of the foot to show the vet, and for comparison later. Good luck.

Hi!
I thread your other thread, but have no advice because my two don't have SA. People who know what they are talking about will chime in soon.

Just seeing this. Joe does it a lot when he runs at Mary Pat's. I use non-stick pads and vet-wrap for a couple days, with Paws booties to go outside, then graduate him to a sock. He's a pretty serious licker, so wounds have to be covered. Oh, and Rimadyl. I believe in drugs.
Hope Henry is feeling better today.

Denise, they didn't have it (that I noticed) on Wednesday. I did score 2 cases of Wellness bars, though.
-
Glad he's going to be ok.

Agreed with the others --they should have sent you home with medications --metronidazole (flagyl), cerenia, zofran (ondasatron), sulfasalazine are all potential medications that may be helpful in the future. One thing your oncologist may consider with future treatments is adjusting her dosage. Often, the dosage may need to be tweaked down to prevent the known side effects.
I'm not a dog, and I've never had chemo, but when I'm puking from migraines Zofran (odanestron) shuts it down fairly quickly. I feel pretty bleh for about 5 hours, then need protein. I coud eat a raw cow as I come off it. Anything that isn't MEAT is disgusting. Just a thought.

Right now, they're calling it an ACL thing.
There's an "area of interest" on the x-rays, which are being sent to the radiologist. I have copies. And will post.
