  1. Ivy and Cherry, Ma ooohed and aaahed ober the photos ob you and your friends at the whinery.  What a pretty location and so many lubly houndies!  :yay

Plus also, Ma told me about photos ob Mam and Patty plus a horse and lady friend they went riding wif. :yay  Sounds like a fun day, except for the closing ob the favorite paddling eatery. :(

Miss Chris, Seize the Grey is really a beautiful horse in addition to being a fast one.

Miz Ducky, that hanging thing is a decorative metal bird.  Ma should hab included it in the photo.

Ma and Auntie Ann just got back from the gym complaining ob being worn out. Ha!  The day's young yet, ladies.  Get cracking! :D

  2. I ezgorted Ma out to take photos ob my yard as requested.  :D

This is Ma's fuchsia...she wanted one and none were in bloom butt she decided she would take whateber bloom colors she got.  The bird baff, squirrel water dish, and filthy deck are also available for view, along wif a couple ob bird feeders.

From the deck looking out at the back yard toward the 3 big Saw Toothed Oaks, with the garden to the right.  I'm out there under the middle tree butt you can't see me well at all.

Here;'s from the yard looking back at the deck.   Bird feeders, handing baskets ob Ivy geraniums, pots wif annuals and a couple ob ferns that really need to get planted.

This is Ma's Japanese Maple--Tamukiyama or somefing like that in front ob the house.  Those floppy green leafs are spring daffodils getting sun so they can bloom next years.  There's a blue hydrangea to the right and behind the maple to the left is the Charleston Camellia bush.  Both ob those Ma planted when she first moved here.

This is the weeping cherry, also planted by Ma when she moved in.  It just got thinned and pruned to wifin an inch ob it's life butt still looks OK...better than this photo shows.

Three Dogwoods in the front yard, 2 white and the smaller pink one.  These also got a big pruning and look the better for it.

Back into the back yard, this is one ob the raised garden beds, 4'x16' block.  She's growing kale, lettuce, snap peas, English peas, okra (too small to see over the peas) and 2 tomato plants.  Plus some ob the Amaryllis babies live there too.

This is me, out under the Saw Tooth Oaks, grazing amongst the wild violets.  They were a swath ob purple flowers this spring and Ma won't mow 'em.  She needs to get in therm and remove weeds, though.

We have mostly weeds in the yard wif a few patches ob fescue hanging on.  It is really a huge yard.  I lub to wander about in it ans sniff and explore.

  3. Miss RE Carol, it's great that you have found someone to help wif the heavy yard werk and digging so you can plant your succulent garden. :yay

I agree wif AP, in that I now feel kinship wif those lions in that we all hab to werk for owr treats. <_<

I am proud ob myownself for my restraint.  I will gib Ma the credit that, if she had known that my schnoz was under that blanket she neber would hab touched it.  She is always careful about making sure knot to startle me.  She's really pleased that I'm a lot less volatile and hair triggered than I used to be. :D

Seize the Grey ran a spectacular race!  :confetti

Miss Chris's eagle sighting sounds also thrilling!
Ma's favorite possum encounter was when she lived in the carriage house in Summerville.  She was taking mini Dachshund Claire out for last potties and turned on the light in the dog trot to go out.  The door there was all glass and there, staring in the bottom pane ob glass, was a baby possum.  Scared Ma at first butt she and Claire watched the baby waddle down the stairs, across the sand, and climb up the huge live oak in from ob the house.  That's when Ma figured out the the kinda large mammalian poos she sometimes found on her Trooper was prolly opossum poop! :D  The baby had a sharp nose, bright beady eyes, and such vivid coloring.

Mam, I'm so glad that riding the bike is bof fun and comfy for you!

Gino, I"m glad those shots and laser are helping you.  Enjoy baykaychun at Grammy's!

Miss Sherrie and Tiller, I'm so glad you are bof OK and so is your house and yard. :kiss2

Miss Nancy ob the Berg, you have lubly trees, grass like owrs ( :blush ) and a great bird feeding setup!  Mister Doug did a splendid job building that great fence. :wow
Enjoy your trip wif Miss Mary to Wheeling.

Miss Elizabeth, MA thinks Osprey's are as exciting as eagles! :wow

    Nate

  4. There are so many different and lubly yards and decks and gardens amongst us! :yay

Mam, we're real glad that Belle is doing OK after her fall. :kiss2

AP, sorry you missed out on that special chicken dinner Flizzie got.  I'm glad she's AOK and knot panting or uncomfy.

Miss Jen, you and your brother make a good team to manage the madre. :kiss2  Summer and Dio get to face the vet trip together.  There's safety and support in numbers!

Another play group cancelled for rain.  Phooey!  Oh, but you all went anyway!  :yay   Still, knot as much fun wifout friends to run wif and bark at.

Miss Banessa, we too are getting threatened wif rain. :kiss2

Miz Ducky, the looked like a frightful storm in Houston.  Ma was thinking that at least Miss Sherrie was safe in the horsepiddle or the rehab place butt she'd be bound to worry about her house. :grouphug

    Nate

  5. Great photos ob Angus and Lacey!  The eyes have it. :D

    1 hour ago, sabrina said:

Ducky thanks for the note from Casa de Postas.  Those poor folks must daily see the horror of those poor dogs.

:nod  This is most true in all its aspects.

Mistress, Ma has meant to mention the lesson she learned this year wif lettuce.  This is the first time she's ever grown lettuce.  She somewhat, um, over planted the lettuce.  It won't last too much longer here on account ob the heat and some ob the plants are huge now--this is all leaf lettuce which should hab been harvested when the leaves were much smaller. :blush  Well, she's discovered that, even wif large elderly leafs, if she soaks them in cool water in the salad spinner for a while and then spins them the lettuce gets firm and crisp and stays that way even in the fridge. So, if you miss fresh lettuce that's a tactic you could try.

    Nate

  6. Andipants, Ma too enjoys shopping for plants way more than shopping for groceries. :D  Maybe Miss Chris can shop for plants today! Oh, wait.  This is FLizzie's dental day, so no plant shopping. Good luck wif the dental, Flizzie. :kiss2   I'm gonna start the backandforth now to build up momentum. :nod

Angus, those were some primo snacks you and Lacey got yesterday. :wow  I hope the end ob that busy, disjointed day was most excellent for eberyone.

Wow, Ivy, your back yard may knot be huge, but it sure is pretty.  You Mom has such lubly pots on the deck and beautiful planting beds all about.  That deck is a great place to hang out and nap.

Miss Nancy ob the Burg, your plan to walk your houndies separately seems wise.  Boy howdy do those ladies hab different walking styles. :eek

NoAh, you chewed a toe pad off? :eek  I'm glad you are feeling better now. :kiss2
How sweet that Chewy sent roses to to you, Miz Ducky, in honor ob Rita. :heart
Thank you for the news about Miss Sherrie.  I hope she will be healing and feeling better soon.  :wave Tiller!  :kiss2 Miss Sherrie.

Mam, how scary for you and Bella. :grouphug  You did a great rescue!  I'm so glad Bella is happily eating now.  Good job looking after your friend and getting help for her, Maggie!

Gino, I bet it is indeed already horridly humid in Charleston.  Happy vacation for your fambily!

Fancy, I hope that doxi-what-eber is helping you feel better.

So I'm gonna let Ma tell this tale ob horror and goodness:
Nate was such a GOOD BOY!  Yesterday I started to get up from my comfy chair and saw that Nate's blanket was bunched at my feet.  Not wanting to trip on it, I reached down to move the blanket.  The blacket was covering poor Nate's head--he was having a pretty spectacular bed fail--so what I grabbed a fist full of was Nate's snoot.  The poor thing was fast asleep when I attacked him.  I expected full on Cujo, with snarls, lunging, and teeth.  However, while he was startled and made a quick growl, he quickly realized that it was just me and recovered right away to accepte my heartfelt apology.  What a good, forgiving boy he's become!

Am I knot the most wonderful, best boy eber? :D

Today is gloomy again butt Ma got the grass mowed yesterday.  Today is for grocery shopping and then training at the gym.  The nice regular trainer is still in Peru.  That means the old girls will either werk wif one ob the other trainers or they'll just hab to wing it on their own! I told 'em that I was a professional affleete an I could train 'em, butt they won't take me to the gym. <_<

    Nate

  7. Piggy and Howie, Ma's now all goopy on the floor ober those photos ob you two. -_-

Molly, you and Miss Carol Ann are holding the fort whilst Mister Dan give people papers.  I myownself like to eat papers.  If he has any left ober after his trip would you consider sending them to me through the hole in the computer? :chow  I hope he has a safe trip home.

AnnIE is home wifout 3 teefs and was sleeping off the effects.  I hope she's up and happily eating her breakfast this morning.  :yay

AndiPants, I'm sorry things are sou rough for and with your Dad right now. :kiss2
I fink it's about time a human got spied on wif a camera instead ob a houndie getting watched. :nod

Flizzie, take that medication and we'll backandforth for your dental.

    Good catch, Miss Elizabeth!

Angus, I fink you win on Lacifer's burfday. :D
Happy birfday, Lacey!  One is a fine age to be. :confetti

Miss Cindy, I hope they really did get the house repair finished. 'Bout time!

Miss Banessa, you win the prize for worst fire ant story. :eek  :kiss2

Cherry has finally taught Miss Kathy to gib her a chewy when the cleaning ladies come!  :yay

Mistress, Ma thinks your yard is lubly!  That lilac is beautiful and the grass is so wonderfully green.  Knot like owr collection ob weeds.   You got some really nice places to sit out there and enjoy!

We had big, loud thunderboomers yesterday afternoon and rains.   I did kont like the boomers and hid in the baffroom for a while.  Then I went to my bed in the bedroom and stayed there.  I eben made Ma gimme my dinner in my bed in the bedroom.  She stayed in there, guarding Tinker as he ate so I wouldn't finish my dinner and then try to finish his too. Spoil sport. <_<

Ma's hoping the weeds will dry out enough for her to mow the yard this afternoon.

    Nate

  8. Sorry, ladies, I was trying to keep you younger a liddle longer.    Personally, I need all the help I can get.  Thank you, Ducky!

Auntie Ann's tire is now mounted, by the dealer.  They hadda keep it ober night.  It cost $500, $400 ob which was labor to get them loose, since it turned out that 5 were stuck in the end.  AAA has a complaint registered.  The original tow truck man may call--they give him 2 days--if he does knot, then AAA will manage the complaint.  It may take some time butt Auntie Ann is prepared to follow up until the AA process is complete.  I fink she's got a pretty solid case for reimbursement. :nod

Piggy, I only get one lonely, stingy blanket for my bed.  You're lucky to hab so many.  You hab a real generous Mom!  I clearly do knot.  The only good thing is that Ma is pretty astute to picking up my cues that I'd like to be covered up wif my blankie.  I'll give her that.

Wiki, Spirit liked those broccolis.  I'm knot so much ob a vegimal eater either.  Howeber, I'm an eager beaver when it comes to licking peoples' plates. :blush  I get into trouble for that move.

:rotfl  Miz Ducky, that bed spread is amazing.  Piggy, imagine the nest you could make wif that!

Mam habs a mystery allergy.  Feel better. :kiss2

Miss Elizabeth was attacked by ants. :kiss2  Do ants other than fire ants bite?  Knot eberyone has a dramatic reaction to fire ants, so I hope you're like Ma and just get a few red knots (or should that be nots? :D ) when fire ants bite.

Miss Patsy is in Lost Wages and made her tight connection.  :yay

Wiki, the Angel Trumpet is coming out ob its winter dormancy! :yay

    Nate

  9. Backandforth and backandforth for Miss Jan's AnnIE who is getting a dental today.  I bet that poor girl had to miss her breakfast too. :kiss2

Miss Patsy, hab a safe trip!  I hope this will be a fun trip for you.  We know you'll be stylishly and comfortably dressed. :yay

Jupe, I hope you'll feel better today. You too, Miss Elizabeth. :kiss2

Well Ma, why did you let me start a postie if you were gonna hab to stop so soon to get ready for the gym?!  Phooey!  I'll be back later.

    Nate

  10. Wiki, I'm sorry Mistress is habing to mow on 2 werk nights. :kiss2  Ma's trying to find a dry day in which to mow.  If she can't get it done tomorrow, then it will hab to wait until Saturday.  I'm glad you got your Wiki Walkie, even if you hadda dodge a Bad Dog.

Auntie Ann did real good and got on the phone to AAA.  They have had her lodge a complaint and they'll process that.  They'll either call her or the fellow who tightened the lub nut so tight that 2 pros couldn't get it off will call her. :D  Right now, she's off to get it fixed by the dealer.  She'll hang on to all the paperwerk.

Since we know you are OK, FancyToo, I find myownself laffing uproariously at your Mom.  Well, except that I know she was scared for you, poor fing.   We're just too cool for owr humans.  To chill for werds. :D

:wow Miss Chris' race horse is running in the Preakness!

So much extra werk to plant and grow and garden.  And yet each year the humans decide to do it all again.

    Nate

  11. Mam, I hope this new round ob shots helps even more. :kiss2

Miss Caroline, Ma and Auntie Ann are pondering that same AAA truth.  They have knot offered to do anything.  Auntie Ann may decide to fight wif them about getting reimbursed, butt right now she just wants her tire mounted.

Linus, FWIW, I won't bit you, butt on the other paw, I'll sniff your behind until you wanna bit me. :blush   I'll play bow at you too.
Miss Patsy, what a great treasure trove ob dresses, and casual things to wear!  You SCORED!! :yay

Jupiter and Miss Elizabeth, I'm so sorry there is sleep disruption and dying rear. Jupe, I fink your self control to find just the right place to deposit eben your liquid assets is amazing.  Feel better. :kiss2  Miss Elizabeth, good luck wif getting the painting done wifout wearing yourself out. :kiss2

Auntie Ann is talking to AAA to see if they'll come through wif a good solution.

We gots rain and gloom today.  Ma's gonna make chili and do laundry today, plus someone from Fidelity is gonna call her to review stuff.  I'm mostly gonna nap and cadge treats. :D

    Nate

  12. :yikes Wiki, that is a gruesome mystery indeed.  Ma's experience is that cats are knot so likely to bury things they catch as dogs are.  :dunno  Poor Mistress. :kiss2

Mam, I'm so glad Callie is feeling all better from his shot.   And PattyKake is a Good Girl for sure! :yay

Ma's fine after the assploding eggie. There was practically no oil in the pan so only hot egg went airborne. :D  Ma calls 'em frizzled eggs rather than fried, butt she thought that weird detail would knot make sense to post.

Piggy, that plan to sell fings that might just get frowed away and then use the money for fun trips is just great!   A win-win if eber there was one.
Did you get into a squabble wif a cattie who gave you scratches?  My bet is that it was a Chupacabra attack. :nod  Those beasts are so sneaky.

Ma says thanks to all ob you for the happy birfday wishes!  She's enjoying an afternoon reading after going to the gym today.  Their regular teacher is in Peru and the nice substitute fellow is pretty tough on 'em so she's extra tired.  Her treats today were an iced caramel macchiato from Starbucks and an apple fritter from the grocery store bakery.  :chow
Poor Auntie Ann got a flat tire Friday.  It was super flat and got shredded on the last 2 miles coming home--she had assumed that the tire just needed air and did knot know it was flat as a pancake. She went to Costco and got a replacement tire under its warranty ( :yay ), butt Costco couldn't put the tire on on account ob they said the AAA guy who put the spare on had ober tightened the bolt and they did knot want to be the ones to strip it trying to loosen it 'cuz that would be expensive to fix. Auntie Ann then took it to the dealership--they will do the tire mounting for $200 butt kindly sent her somewhere else that would do it cheaper.  Only that recommended place won't do it at all. -_-  Auntie Ann then called AAA and they sent someone out to mount the tire.  He couldn't get the bolt to budge.  So now Auntie Ann has an appointment tomorrow back at the dealership for the $200 dollar tire mounting, because the Subaru dealership can to it butt Costco was right...it's gonna be expensive.

Nate, who did knot get one pet from anyone except Ma frew this whole ordeal!

  13. Well, there were eggs cracked into a frying pan, each topped with a slice of Canadian bacon.  One of the eggs made a loud pop, blowing off the Canadian bacon topping and spraying both cooked and runny egg liberally about.  I was quite surprised, since I'd never had that experience before.  I think perhaps there was an air pocket that burst as it heated, maybe?  Shock ensued and then it popped and spattered again as Ann and I were exclaiming and dithering. :lol  I made sure Ann ate that one, since I figured it had it out for me. :D

    • Haha 1
  14. Happy Mother Day to all the moms!  Moms to humans and moms to houndies and kitties too!  :confetti

Miss Halise, what a frustrating day with spilled juice, and lost manuals, and flaming hips. :kiss2

Yesterday's adventure here was that Ma was cooking fried eggs and, as she started to turn one, it assploded at her.  Eggie on Ma's face :rotfl and in her hair, on the stove, the floor, the wall, the microwave...

Miss Chris, I'm sorry you were treated so rudely.  Ants should take up residence in his underwear!   Oooh!  Fire Ants!  What a great idea, Miss Noo Carol. :yay

Candy, I bet your Mom will be grateful for your help digging planting holes!

    Feel better Callie.  :kiss2

Miz Ducky, thank you for the update about Miss Sherry.  We all wish the news was better.  Miss Sherry, I hope your fever is gone really soon and that your knee heals up fast and sure.

We hab a lubly sunny day here.  Ma could/should mow grass butt does knot want to.  It's been a busy week for her and she's ready for a quiet day.

    Nate

  15. Chris, I'm so angry on your behalf!  WTH?! is the matter with the glassbowl at the bank?!  And how much more of your band width is it worth?  But can you bear to let him get away with that kind ob unnecessary obstruction?

Auntie Ann tried to lure me outdoors whilst Ma had the hose running on the deck.  No way hosehay!  I'm knot falling for that trap.  The planting ob the pretties is done mostly.  Ma's got a couple ob perennials she still needs to deal wif.  The birdies kept flying about the feeders butt hesitating to land and feed whilst the humans were on the deck.  Silly things!

    Nate
