Ian had similar dry skin issues shortly after we adopted him. We started using "Wild Alaskan" salmon oil (purchased at petco) and it helped a lot. We also feed grain free food. I think it's called natural balance, but it's the Dick van Patton brand-whatever that name brand is. It may be worth a try.

So happy to see that Ruby is doing so well! She's such a beautiful girl.

I noticed your signature has GPA Houston in it. We are also in Houston. Shortly after we got our first greyhound, Ian, our vet told me his creatinine was too high and this could be a sign of kidney failure. This was seriously about 2 months after we got him. Anyway, long story short, we have a new vet. Sam Miller at Village Vet 713-468-7955. He is one of the vets GPA Houston recommends. If you want to pm me, you can to make sure we have not had the same bad experience with the same vet. Dr. Miller is great, though!

We bought our first greyhound bed from Mammoth. We have had Ian for 2 years next month and his bed is still in great shape and does not sag. I'm not sure that it has so much to do with the thickness of the foam, or the density, or both. It's seems like Biotene is the product most everyone likes. Has anyone who uses biotene used Petzlife too? Any thoughts on one being better than the other?

We use extra soft kids toothbrushes. We tried the battery operated ones. They were fine for Ian, but Bella's mouth is too small. We use petrodex enzymatic toothpaste. We used to give the CET chews but Ian got them stuck in the space between his teeth and gums. The piece was large enough to cross the roof of his mouth . We couldn't figure out what was wrong. He was bleeding profusely from scratching at his mouth so we took him to the er where they removed the chew. That being said, CET has veggie chews that serve the same purpose but are a different texture so they don't get stuck. Apparently this is common. Anyway, I'm going to try the washcloth or maybe those gloves that are like a washcloth on Ian. His gums are sooooooo bad. He bleeds a lot when I brush his teeth and I am very gentle.

I love the picture of Bandit! He's beautiful. One of the board member's at our local GPA chapter told my husband and I about a product called PetzLife Oral Spray. It really does take the plaque off. There is a gel formulation that we tried and didn't particularly care for. The spray is easy to use and works well. We get so nervous about dentals because of anesthesia and I think this will help delay the need for dentals in the future. Anyway, I hope this helps a little and I will say a prayer for Bandit tonight.
