My grey had soft poop on pasta, how about trying rice? But make sure it's fully fully cooked...almost mushy. I read somewhere on here that if it's not fully cooked, it will make soft poops.

Congrats! May I ask what her racing name was?
-
Can I ask how you make your grey throw up?

Nike will eat anything.. lately his favourite has been stolen broccoli from the kitchen counter - and he growled when I tried to take it away. Who knew broccoli was such a high value item?
If broccoli is a doggie treat then I'm in trouble...I eat broccoli all the time!

My Bella goes crazy over Salmon Skin Bones from Snack21:

I've just ordered her a case of them from the local Global pet food store. They are $1.69 each, with a case it's only $1.22.
What is your greys favorite dog snack?

More play dates with other greys! You get exercise, he does...you make friends and so does he! It's a win win situation

I never got to meet you Loca, but you seemed to fill lots of hearts with love. Hope you have a good birthday Sweetie Robin, NCR park sometime soon, before the weather gets cooler?

Welcome to Greytalk. I got my first grey a few months ago, right after I turned 26. It's so exciting iesn't it?!

My bf has had greyhound pretty much all his life, he had one ironically named "Maggie" who would just lay around, not really play, she was just there. He was told to add another grey, he did...and that's when they knew Maggie wasn't broken! lol Perhaps she needs a grey friend?

Please take this the right way...I hope you are losing your mind

Can you put a piece of furniture or something on the spot? Sometimes they pee on the same spot no matter how much you clean it.
Is she peeing more than usual? Could be a uti.
No...she's peeing the same amount. I could move the coffee table over it, but then it won't be centered, that might drive me nuts!

Bella must think that the new shaggy black rug in the living room is grass. She pee'd on it...I cleaned it (outside, hosed it down, soap...the whole nine yards). She pee'd on it again. I'm thinking about getting that spray that keeps does "away", but does that mean she won't pee on it, or she won't come into the living room?! Any other tips?

Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago, she came running up the deck steps, it was wet out and she slid and hit the second set up steps
Hope Karma heals quick, what a sad face!

Welcome to GT, you'll find yourself glued to this site! Rio is beautiful!

Pardon my silly question, but common sense says diary is good for bones. Have any studies been done on feeding dogs more diary to prevent osteo? Not only do I feed my Bella yogurt as a treat...but I think it may help prevent osteo

I recently read a thread about rice not being bolt enough which CAUSED the soft poops. Make the rice mushy!

Yogurt - our girls LOVE it in their PB Kongs
She already gets yogurt...so that won't work.

My grey loves peanut butter...so I put some pb and kibble in ice cube trays and put them in the freezer overnight. They didn't freeze solid (nothing is wrong with the freezer, just that pd doesn't freeze apperently). What kind of food can I mix with pb to make it freeze? I was thinking cooked rice...any other suggestions?

Thank you for giving her a home knowing she had problems, and for being brave when the time came.....
You are a very special person.
Mylie knew that too I'm sure...
Deeply sorry for your loss
I couldn't have said it better. Mylie is pain free running with the wind

May I ask...how should I introduce my grey to swimming? I walked with her in a lake up to my knees, but didn't try to go further with her (too chicken about all the what if's), and I'm such an overprotective mom.

Hoping for a quick recovery

Thank you for all the wonderful replies, I've read everything twice...and I am hoping to enroll in obedience classes this fall

I have never owned a dog before, and am learning so much. However I don't quite know what to do when another dog approches us, with his/her owner holding thier leash, on a walk. I've read horror stories about dogs getting in fights, and people getting hurt when both are on leashes(getting tangled, therefore I've avoided it...I'll hold Bella closer to me and make sure she doesn't go near the other dog. Guess I'm just over protective / paranoid about it What's the right thing to do? Bella does greyt at the doggie park, fyi.

She walked into our house, sniffed out her food bowl...ate for about 2 minutes, then went to the couch and laid down, then took a deep breath and put her head on the arm of the couch. That was it. She knew it was her home. Because this is so much different then most greys, I do think her trainer had taken her home...she wasn't scared of hardwood floors either.
