  1. That's what I used Hilda but once it gets wet outside, the flour comes off and it starts bleeding again He has a lovely neon green vet wrap around his foot now
  2. I clipped nails on everyone and I guess I got one too short on Sparks. He didn't make a peep so I didn't notice until he walked and got it all over the floor. I put my normal nail stuff on it but now everytime he goes outside, it starts bleeding again Anything else I can use? Can you use liquid bandaide on a toenail? thanks
  3. ticks ewwww still have the heebies from the one I found last weekend
  4. Diamond is feeling much better tonight He ate both meals and took his pills He's still shaking his head from time to time so not sure how long that will continue Thanks for all the well wishes He's a good boy and we'll find him his perfect forever home!
  5. He's sleeping on a dog bed at the foot of my bed with a pillow for his head and a blanket over him. I don't have the heart to move him but should. I think he will sleep better in the crate as I know Passion will try to kick him off the dog bed like she does the boys.
  6. I noticed last night that the area above his incision was puffy, almost like a cotton ball was under the skin. Tonight when I got home, I couldn't even tell he had a penis, it was so swollen. I called the vet, hoping they were open late tonight, they weren't but were open until 6 (I got there just at 6). They said it was infected. I asked if there was anything I could have done to prevent it and they said no. I was so upset that this happened. The vet said I caught it in time so don't beat myself up and there's nothing I could have done. He's on another antiboitic and it will be draining for a while where they took out 2 stitches. I have to put warm compresses on it to help it drain. It was dripping blood/pus when they walked him out. I asked for a towel or something. I had taken all the dog beds out of the car (because he had fleas) and in my rush to leave tonight, only grabbed a small bed, no towels. They vet wrapped him in some red vet wrap and off we went. He actually jumped into my car (a first!). I also mentioned that he's been shaking his head a lot the last couple of days. Turns out he has an ear infection. Diamond, I am so sorry you don't feel well. I'm trying my best to make you feel better, I promise! He's now sacked out with a towel around his waist. I got his bed ready in the crate in my bedroom and let's hope it's not too messy tonight. How do you remove blood from walls and wood floors? Poor guy has had a rough 2 weeks, GUR from Birmingham where it was probably 80 and sunny only to arrive in MN where it was -20 and this cold white stuff all over the ground! Neuter was painful (no balls), treated for fleas, ticks and worms. Incision got infected and had an ear infection. Decided he didn't like wet dog food so wouldn't take the panacur mixed in. Won't eat pumpkin and needs it for his Big D. Won't eat wet kibble. Has figured out he has to take pills twice a day so backs away when he see's me coming and we still have another week to go! He's such a good boy with all that he's going through!
  7. Lucky has a small patch but he doesn't sphinx I just leave them alone
  8. It's not long at all. Keiths was longer and he was bruised on his entire tummy. He had 1 hiding. I'll take a pic
  9. Believe me, I will NEVER pick up another dog without getting capstar and giving it to the dog before it gets into my car! Heather, Judy and Jey can all confirm how paranoid I was about fleas before I even left to pick him up. He's feeling back to normal already. He's whining in his crate (they all just ate) so I am going to let him out shortly. I just sprayed the dog beds again with flea spray (just to be sure) so need them to dry before he lays down. He only woke us up twice last night so hopefully tonight will be better and not an all night whine fest
  10. I dropped him off at the vet this morning for his neuter and dental. I got a call around 10 asking if he was already neutered Nope, his testicles were hiding (they never did tell me where they were) So they had to hunt for them and he's going to be very sore for a while He also has fleas and worms so I had to wash everything that he might have gotten close. My dogs and cats also got a capstar. On a side note, the washer at the laundry mat was $15 I still have 4 more dog beds to wash and spray down the house Diamond is sleeping right now and all doped up. He hasn't slept a night since he got here so I hope he does tonight (for my sanity as well)
  11. you can put rubber bands around the top of the socks to keep them on
  12. I just bought a bag and it was the same I meant to ask if I could get some of the old stuff I picked up 4 bags in Oct but am almost out so had to pick some up this week
  13. I'm pretty ticked about the change and yes loose poops I have been feeding them PP for 6 years and never thought I'd have to find a new food
  14. Has he gone poop today? Sprarks will pant when he has to poo Hope he's feeling better soon!
  15. I noticed tonight that Lucky has 2 small red spots missing hair I will add fish oil, thanks for the tip Judy
  16. Didn't it take PJ a long time to firm him up as well?
  17. Add pumpkin I was giving Keith 1/2 cup twice a day and after about 3 weeks, it finally firmed up
  18. Update: 1/10 He's up to 65.4 lbs Less than 5 more to go He also has a odd lump on the back of his leg so I got that looked at while at the vet yesterday. It's nothing but I need to keep an eye on it. He's also really coming out of his shell with me. He jumpes all over the place when I get home or when we get up in the morning. He's playing more as well. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I picked up Keith the middle of Nov and he was neutered a few days after we got back. He had really runny poop for about a month. I was really getting worried as he was loosing weight and down to 61 lbs (he should be close to 70). He was 65 when I got him. I think the food that the fosters eat just wasn't agreeing with him so it took a long time for his stools to firm up. I was giving him 1/2c pumpkin twice a day and stopped that the week of Christmas. I am happy to report that he gained almost 2 lbs when I had him weighed last week (he was weighed 2 weeks before that) I think now that he's finally settled into a routine here and feeling much more comfortable, he's finally not so nervous and his tummy isn't upset anymore. I am able to give him treats now without worrying about runny poop in a few hours I hope to get more weight on him before he's adopted Here's Keith
