I leave the collars on 24/7. I have used them for several years and had no problem. I learned the hard way from my sister..she had inside only cats and thought they would never have fleas..well, they did and her whole house was infested with them..it took an exterminator several months to get them half way under control. What a mess.

I have used it on two hounds. They were on it for years with no effects. DaVid took 900mg per day and Lady 600mg per day. It really helped my hounds. They took this with Tramadol.

I am not a vet, but have had 2 hounds with corns. It looks like a corn to me. Thera Paws will help along with walking on grass. But, mine never held their feet up. Talk to your vet, but mine had never seen a corn until mine had them.

Guess I should have said..my vet had never seen a corn until my hounds had them..lol

Agree with Batmom..Mine were taking 900 mg of Gab a day along with Tramadol and I believe that was 150mg 3 times a day...But, it does not work forever..I have lost two to bone cancer and if I had to do it over I would let them go earlier than I did..It is extremely painful for them to have this.

[New And Strange Behavior, Need Help!]

Both of my Galgos sleep in their crates at night and have since day one. These crates are in my bedroom. When it is cool in the house I lay a blanket on top of the crates and that makes it more like a cave. I did buy cots to put inside the crates and have blankets on the cots. I do not hear a sound for at least 8 hours. They seem to love their crates.

I gave DaVid and Lady on 900 mg of Gab. a day along with Tramadol also 3 times a day. It kept him mobil for about 2 years. He had a really bad hips/back and corns on front and back feet. Lady had bone cancer. I also lost Huck to bone cancer. If I had to do it over again, I would have let Lady go much sooner than I did.

I personally back off of what ever their are growling about..But, mine have not growled but about once since I have gotten them..and that was right after their dentals...but, that is the only way they have of warning you..think of it as a person saying "stop"..you would not correct that person..so, I think your vet is thinking wrong and I would not pay any attention to what he is saying in this instance. Also, is she is growling about wanting her space and you plop yourself down next to her, do not be surprised if she nips you. That would be her next step after growling. Like Greysmom said, she will get more confident and comfortable around you as time goes on, but right now EVERYTHING is new to her.

DaVid and Lady took Gabapentin for several years (like 7) and it really helped them. If you will privately e-mail me and tell me your mailing address and your dog's weight, I will mail you a Thera Paw boot. If you put it on and the limp stops, I would highly suspect a corn (even though you cannot see it)..it may be growing inward. I have several left over from the Greyhounds that the Galgos don't need. And, maybe you need to think about an MRI..much better than radiographs.
